Hello all,

So, I picked up a Honda 1986 TRX 70 ATV and am in the process of restoring it. I came across this bolt on the left side of the motor that I'm unfamiliar with.

I have attached a picture pointing out the bolt.

I'm able to turn it left and right. It will either click left, or click right. I have no idea what this is for.

Any help would be great!

Thanks,
Brad

SHAFT, INDICATOR? Hmm, interesting. I wonder which way it should be turned... Left or right? lol

This bolt is screwed directly on the shift drum, turning it with a wrenct have the same effect that using the shifter. And yes it's a neutral indicator

As the guys said it's the indicator for what gear is selected. There should be a little white plastic piece with an e-clip holding it on that has a raised red part on it that points to an embossed arrow above a big "N" on the side case when in Neutral.

Hope this helps.

If you need a pic, let me know.

On an unrelated note - the cyclinder and head look so nice and clean compared to the rest. Interesting.

Exactly. Its just a nuetral indicator which is missing the indicator. Imagine that :)
