Stumbled upon a motor really cheap... Just wanted to see if it just drops in and the differentials line up.

I know it do on the 250es frame, but im not sure about the SX.

Goat. Search 300sx. There is a cat that did it with fairly detailed instructions. I believe you need to swap output shafts.

Im not sure exactly what is involved but it will work. My gf's brother done this and it looks, and works very good. I think he said something of having to motor 3/8ths of an inch to make the output shaft line. Like I siad it will work because i seen it done:P

Getting different ideas from people... So you need the electrical for a 300 to run the myor too? That makes things more difficult.... Expensive

i put a 300 motor in my 250sx last winter, used the output shaft from the 250 motor so the drive shaft will line up, i used all the 300 electrical and the carburator with 250sx intake between head and carb.

I have a 300 motor waiting to go into my Big Red. I bought a complete quad with a bad rear and parted out what I didn't want. I basically got the motor, carb, wiring, airbox and headpipe for free. Those TRX 300 parts pull some big $. Even with a bad ring and pinion I think I made close to $200 just in the other saveable rear parts. If you need a ES/SX output shaft let me know. I have 2 or 3 extras.

I know the top end fits as well as just using the 300 cam. You can aslo mount a 300 trx swinger on it to get +2.

see I'm getting completely different info from everyone.... some say the top ends interchange...some say they don't. the cam chains are the same length, and the cam gears interchange.
but the 250sx has an external oil line so obviously you can't just throw the top ends on there.
