Small question,

I have a 250sx with a problem in the Key Switch Dash. it seems I have to twist the key to a "sweet spot" to get the green light to turn on in neutral....as long as I can keep it in that sweet spot the bike will start. obvious this is annoying and I would like to fix this.

has anyone experienced this before?

Is there another option other than just replacing the Dash? :lock:

Is dash replacement just a simple "unplug the old and plug in the new" type of deal ?

When I ride the bike and the key jiggles from the "sweet spot" is my battery still getting charged ?

Thanks guys ! :D

you probelby need tot ake to appart, sand the contacts, use dia-eelctric grease on it and re-assemble it. common issue with old key switches. at least yours works.

Mine does this also....

The keyswitch cover unscrews and then you can pop it out of the housing to replace it by the tabs; IF it's stiff available................

I have not taken it apart yet...are the table the same little fuses like in a car or truck ?
I will try sanding the contacts as well....I took my spark plug out because I was having starting problem with another bike my Dad uses and sanded the spark plug and it has never worked so well !

Yeah, that's real good info Oscarmyer! My SX key switch is doing the same thing. Hey Silverado, if you're wondering if the battery's charging while the neutral light isn't lit, try connecting a meter to the battery when the neutral light is off vs. on & see if there's a difference. I'd try it right now, but my meter's at work.
