With the 200X I bought I got a spare cylinder, head and valve cover, which I was real happy about but after looking at the cylinder head closer, the bearing surface for the larger end of the camshaft that does not use a bushing is all worn down. Can this be machined to use a bushing. Or I have heard about a camshaft that used roller bearings. I would like to rebuild this head and hone or bore the cylinder so when I do decide to do the upper end on mine I can do it quick. The bearing surface is worn down almost a good millimeter.

Megacycle sells the cam with the bearing but in my opinion its cheaper to find a decent used head and go from their . Also your cam might be worn out if the head is to .

^ What shortline said. The cam and bearring is a little more expensive, but I bet it is super smoothe with the roller bearring end, where the factory cam is basically "metal on metal." The claim is that it will fix a worn head with absolutely NO machining! Here is the link to check them out. http://www.megacyclecams.com/catalog/pages/page%2022.pdf

The cam that came in the box of parts is shot. This head was in the box of parts too. Fortunately the engine on the trike runs real good. Doesn't seem like I'll need to do the top end soon. But mostly wondering if the other head is worth keeping around, guess it is, just wanted to make sure before I coated it in oil and stored it all nice that it was more than just a cool looking paper weight. Anyone used the roller bearing cam? Looks like a nice piece.

those roller cams are da bomb! but for $330 it's expensive. a good 200x head is like $65 on ebay.

I figured the cam would be sweet, how can you go wrong with needle bearings. And I must just have bad luck on e-bay cuz the only thing I ever bought was junk. So my luck I'd buy a head off e-bay and it would be junk too.

What all engines are good parts donors for the 200X? We have a junk yard down the road that get some bikes in a bit.

I'm running a Megacycle cam with bearings on both ends. Super smooth, simple and haven't had any trouble with it. Would defiantly do it again. Oh yeah the billet spacer plate looks cool too. lol
