ok guys and girls. i am in the process of trying to get SWIRA club (southern wisconsin ice racers) to allow 3 wheelers to race this winter (studded hopefully)
so far i have contacted them, asked them if they allow 3 wheelers. they were not against it, but as usual it comes down to insurance.

when i talked to one of the board members on the phone, he seemed very interested in letting trikes in their club. they are trying to get "back to the ice racing roots" as he says. and he recognized that 3 wheelers came before quads. i am staying on top of this.

all of the racing happens on lake koshkanong (sorry for spelling error) by i think the sunset bar and grill. i need some help here though.

if any one is interested in racing with this club. please visit their website and kick them an email to let them know that we are out here and we want a place to race. from what i have read on their website, if we have more than 4 trikes at each race , we can have our own class.!!!!!!!!!!!

even if we have to race with the quads, i wouldn't really care. so get involved, help me out here. here is the web site.

swiraclub.com. they have all the rules and everything in there.

also here is their email address. swiraclub@yahoo.com

thanks guys!! hope to see you out there!!!!!!!!!!!! lets try and make this happen!!!!:beer

I had a first year raptor that i raced there. The owner of sunset had set the races up.That was the only year i went.It was a short oval track about 75 feet offshore, was a blast!I'm sure things have changed since then. You had to have nerf bars,i was putting mine on the night before, lol.Mine was bone stock, raced against a 480(i think) ex,homemade 540 and a ds650.The 480 and the 540 were setup for it and just killed me.
Not sure if you ever heard of this before but they have drags, etc. in milton twice a year.
www.monkeybuttatv.com I raced my 85 250r one year and did pretty good.
Well, talking about insurance,i came back to race the R and my 452 the next year and they said i couldn't because of insurance reasons.PISSED me off,i just got the 452 all dialed in and ready to go.Just wanted to see how it would fare.
It might come down to insurance whether you get to race or not.If it happens,i can afford to watch, haha.

yeah i have contacted monkeybutt a while back and was told no. cwira (central wisconsin ice racing) allows 3 wheelers but just can't be studded. swira has the same insurance from i was told. we shall see.

ok people. i just got contacted by swira. here is the deal.

as of right now. 3 wheelers are allowed to race, but only in the pro rubber class. so that means no studs no even with the quads.

the only way that they will allow trikes with studs is if i can (we can) find 3 other trikes that would like to race. that way we can have our own class.
so with that, if anyone would like to do some ice racing and are willing to drive or live near southern wisconsin. please feel free to contact message me.

i do have a major company that is willing to back us trikes (evs products) but i have to get a class of our own first!!!!!!!!!!

where exactly is this lake located??? i might be interested even though i'm pretty sure my 200x wont fair very well, also id only be interested in it if studded tires are involved, i dont have the funds to get another set of tires just for this, and honestly no studs on ice sucks!!
