trx 250r spark issues

i have an 89 250r . heres the story when i first bought the quad i had some trouble initially getitng spark . it was getting 1 spark every few kicks and backfireing. i redid some loose connections with new puch in plugs and it was fixed.

recently after sitting for about 3 weeks i had the same issue took it out for a rip and it just died . no spark what so ever ever since . i noticed my spark plug wire on the coil end was loose . got new coil still no spark .

cleaned the ground wire ... and noticed while i kick it and hold the ground wire loosely on metal the ground wire has some arcing (not the spark plug) .

what do you think ? blown CDI ?

This happened to me, one of the bolts on the inside of the stator cover that holds the cases together backed out and got between my stator and flywheel and basically fried my stator.

Pull the cover and pull the flywheel and make sure your stator is in good shape

i did that too . everything was tight and rust free.

Have you performed any of the electrical tests in the manual?

i just looked at a manual .....but i dont have a working multi meter just yet...lol i i am sure ill be able to narrow it down with those tests thanks

turned out to be a bad CDI box .
