Just aquired an 84 honda atc 250R

I just got an 84 250r that has been sitting in a shed for the past 15 years....i want to get it running...where do i even start? I was thinking about new spark plug and air filter and then change the motor oil? I also need to new rear tires...preferably cheap..the size thats on it now are 22x11x8 Any suggestions??? You will prob have to clean the carb too unless the fuel was drained before storage

Well lets see. clean the tank and carb. throw away the in line filter and the fuel line. Clean the tank filter. Free up the rings. Check for spark drain the oil do a compression test. have you tried starting it?

you'll wanna put a little oil in the spark plug hole before turning it over if it has sat that long.

Change oil, dump all fuel filters, poor some oil in plug hole prior to even trying to kick it over. Check all electrical for rodent wear (chewed wires etc..). Clean carb just for good measure and test all cables. At least thats what I do when I get a bike that has been sitting for years.

Lazy version would be SEAFOAM its the best , spray into spark plug , poor into gas , it will smoke alot, but after a few minutes mine idled perfect ran perfect the product is awesome
