hello
well i just blew 45 dollars on a new coil and the tool to remove the magneto, and still no spark. i was told by a member on here how to test it and it registers 0 what are the chances that the new coil is bad?

Are you talking about the coil on the stator, or the coil that the spark plug wire comes off of? I'm assuming on the stator, since you had to remove the flywheel. Did you test the plug coil on the frame under the gas tank?

hello
yes thats what im talking about, howdy had said that a good coil should read between 215-240 ohms my old stock coil puts out 198 and the new one i jiggled mt tester and i was able to get 168ohms so its in the coil. can these be rewound? has anyone done that?

I'm sure they can be rewound and the number of turns and thickness of wire create a certain OHMS or resistance......

Thats odd that the new coil had even less ohms......

Do you have a good meter with a new battery, I always get screwed up readings from my cheap meter or an older battery.
