can anyone tell me if a complete brake setup from a 86 will fit on a 85? I have a 85 200x with no brake componets at all except for the rotors.I located some for a 86 but not sure if they are the same. thanks!

well with a welder and torch i guess i can make anything fit......just wanted to know if the would fit with out any mods.

The cr80/cr85 front caliper fits on the rear.. Get them almost new for $25 on ebay.. The master cylinder also fits on these very easily as well.

For the front; I think the kx80 rear caliper works on the front of the 200x..

I don't know myself but if it was the same from Honda, you can cross reference part numbers on BikeBandit, that will you at least tell you if Honda used the same part.

The 86 is a whole different animal........ The rear caliper is probably the same, but the master and how it's mounted aren't identical.

One small bracket (if you can make up some stuff) makes a Banshee rear master cylinder work great, and there are TONS of them out there for 20$ or so................. I can post a pic if you get in a bind and want to see that option.

Cross referencing is usually not a definitive answer, Honda changed numbers all the time for identical or very similar parts! It's best to get real answers from guys that did the swap.

Best thing I ever did was to buy a few Canonndale front master cylinders, I run them on all my toys................ 35$ a pop at the time and brand new :D

cool thats what i wanted to know.If they bolted rite on or with some easy mods i would buy them but if I have to do alot of work i might as well upgrade
