My '85 Big Red 250ES has been winterized since fall and waiting...... for the ICE, and ICE FISHING!!!

Was out last night on 3.5 inches of solid black ice here in Southeast Michigan..lots of fish caught, a good time was had......looking forward to using Big Red as my beast of burden, to pull my 2-person Clam shanty, bait, beer, friends, radio, food auger, fishfinder, gear, and small bbq grill for a day of ice fishing, food, friends, and partying on the ice!!

I've had to pull all this stuff before by hand....it absolutely sucked.

Its awesome to practically "own" some of the lakes we hit, as there is no one ever on them!! And the Big Red will make it possible to get to one of these "great little spots".

Its great piece of mind knowing when the ice is finally ready for the machines, all I have to do is load/unload the truck, hit the button (god I love e-start), and soon I"ll be fishing!!

I bought a 1986 carb last year (with the cold start jetting), and put it on. Man, does this thing cold start great!!! Purrs like a kitten!

Cant wait!!!

What lake do you usually go out on Mike?

Monroe,
We've been hitting some lakes around Oakland county / livingston county. We fished 3 times since last thursday, including last night. Every night we hit several 12+ inches crappie; brought home 12 last night. Let several bass go, including a 19 inch fat monster caught at 10:55 pm last night. Friggin crazy, never thougt we'd ice a largemouth that late at night, under the ice. The lantern really attracts the fish!! The cold weather keeps the Labatts nice and cold.

We had 5 inches solid ice last night, which would have been enough for the Big Red, though the lake is very small , with only a short walk. The larger lakes we use Big Red. We are especially looking forward to hitting Saginaw Bay this year for walleye. If lake Erie freezes this year, another place we like to take Big Red is stoney point.
