Hello again. Sold the yamaha ytm 200 because i didn't like it, and it smoked like a pig even though valve seals were replaced, and compression was 160 all day. Bad oil ring i assume, and i didn't want to eal with taking it down again. So.. on CL today i bought a Honda 200m for 125 bucks. it's all there and runs good with no noises apparent. Plastics are poor though. looking for a front fender. It has a rear rack, and 2 like new paddle type tires to replace the baldies on it now. Front tire is good. Won't idle, bt either carburation, or stale gas, and i can deal with both of those. It currently needs a master link for the chain, good cleaning, front fender, frankenstein zp fix on the rear plastics, and has a small tear in the seat. Couple of acorns in the breather box also. Headlight is off with a busted bulb, but came with another set of handlebars, and 2 headlight assebblies with grills. Ill put pictures up tomorrow, but im hoping to find a master link before the holidays so i can ride it. Sound like i got a straight deal?

Oh.. the key wasn't with it when i bought it. Pull still works, but i want the electric start working..Any way to easily convert it to a pushbutton?..And..The battery is dead. Anyone ever dump the acid out, and replace with epsom salts and distilled water like i have read about?.. Ok.. Enough questions.. Eh?

i have never heard about the battery thing let me know if this method works I have a bad battery on my yamaha and my honda. Congrats on the new M I have a 1985 200m myself. If you are ever looking to get rid of on eof those headlight assemblies I am looking for one. Meier makes a reman front fender for it . For the rears you will just need to search Ebay for a good used set going on there because noone re manufactures the originals I think you can fine both left and right sides in very good shape for $150 - $200. I dumped mine off of my lift and trashed my fenders and had to do the same thing I think there is about 200 zip ties holding them together now. Seat covers are about $50 also on Ebay. Sounds like a killer deal I got mine for $100 on CL but had to do a replacement of the whole top end. Congrats and good luck getting it going for the Holidays! - Zach

Heres the Battery repair site i found..looks promising..Will post results. Also thinking about fiberglassing over the front fender with matt and resin. It's an ice fishing rig, so looks dont count.
