Hi all,

Looking at getting some new rear tires for the trike. We have a Cycle Gear store close by that sells some 20X11X10 Dirt Gear tire and rim sets, but I'm not sure about that size on the trike and I can't find any reviews on the Dirt Gear tires. Right now (as I bought the trike) it has Nankang  tires and some beat-up a** wheels size 22X11X8. Never heard of Nankang tires before either.

Pretty much going to be riding with my son on trails and hills, no racing.

Any help and options would be appreciated, as I would like to get it out and ride! As it sits now the left rear doesn't hold air.

I ran Kenda KlawXC's on my ex-85' 250R. It went good and handled very well with those tires.

Kenda KlawXC...I will look into those.

What sizes fit the 250R...I'm running a 22X11X8...but would like something a little smaller in diameter. I found a set of rears that are 20X11X10 and would like to know if anyone runs that size or if it even fits at all.

I'm getting into trail riding myself.I have been out of riding for 15 years or better untill my recent purchase,I was thinking of going closer to factory spec's for ground clearance..

Yeah, I have heard of people running 20x11-10. Just remember, you would have to get a different set of rear rims (10 inch) and the tire height would be the same as you have now with the 22x11-8, because the 10 inch rim brings it up 2 inches. 20x11-10 = 22x11-8, only less tire and more rim.

the 20x11x10 would work fine, stock size on '86 R is 20x10x9, so it would be a bit wider, but same height. the first # in a tire size in diameter or height, second is width, third is rim size. Your tires now are 22" tall, the Dirt Gears are 20" tall, but only an inch shorter than yours, because you gain an inch above and below axle centerline. I have 18x10x8 Dunlops on my '85 R and they work fine for me( I also have a set of factory 20x10x9 I switch to sometimes), but a 20" tire is a great size tire for a trail bike. Hope this helps.

Most people run 20's on their 250R's. I prefer 18's because they handle better, but it all depends on how you ride and where you ride.
