I've been kicking around the idea of having a ride this summer at maple ridge atv trails, and wanted to get a feel for people's interest. I've used this site so much that i'd like to give back and organize a ride for anyone that wants to attend. I've already contacted them to see if they're 3 wheeler friendly, and they accepted us with open arms.

The site: Maple ridge atv

About them: (copied from site)
Celebrating our 3rd Year of Providing the best to the ATV Riding Community - ‘The Mountain’ will soon be the Largest ATV & Motocross park on the East Coast - We have over 2500 acres and access to another 500 acres! Our trails provide a mix of riding that will fit any rider’s style. We have gentle rolling hills, extreme rock climbing, mud pits and hills that can challenge the best riders.

Come and Visit us, NEW TRAILS are Now Open
Our trails are marked as:
Green for Novice - family oriented
Blue for Advanced - challenge yourself
Black for Expert - rocky

*They have camping with electricity
*Only requirement is helmets
*sadly they don't want you drinking on the premisis (however, there are trails to my house if we want to have a fire/booze here)

for more information visit: http://www.mountainridgeatvtrails.com

Like i said, this is a feeler to see if anyone would want to attend or help out. I'm thinking about doing this in june or july if dates are open.

Let me know what you think - Lew

yes, this is where quadfest was held. it was closed down last year because they were having windmills put on their property to help increase revinew.
The cost is kind of depending on how many people are showing up and if they're camping. Its a little pricy, but its over 100 miles of trails. I think if its a group of ten or more its 18 bucks a day on weekends, plus 15 a night to camp with electricity (10 if no electricity). I feel that if i could get enough people to commit it would cost even less.

Brapp, i'm not sure if you have to have your bike registered or not. i'll check into it, being that i've never personally rode there (legally) yet.

Hey, I would be interested in going also, I'm not that far away either. (New Stanton PA)

I also would question Registration and Insurance information.

Here is the info that I found on thier site in the FAQ section regarding registration and insurance:

[I]30. Does my quad need to be registered with the PA DCNR to ride at the Mountain? – The Mountain supports the rules and regulations of the PA DCNR. However, we are not a DCNR enforcing agency. We leave registration requirements to the interpretation of our visitors and refer you to the Pennsylvania Dept. of Natural Resources and their website, www.dcnr.state.pa.us/snowmobiles.

31. Is insurance on my quad necessary to ride at the Mountain? – We are not an insurance regulating agency and as a guest signing our waiver form, you take responsibility for insurance requirements. For questions, we direct you to the Pennsylvania Dept of Insurance consumer hotline at 877-881-6388. It is stated in the Summary of Pennsylvania’s All Terrain Vehicle Law, “Liability insurance coverage is required for all ATV’s that are required to have a general registration.

Keep us posted, sounds like a good time.

Looks pretty promising as for as the insurance/registration goes. I know the lady I talked to on the phone said some trikes have come through there already. (and around here i'm sure they're neither of those). but i'll shoot her an email just to double check.

Since i've never put one of these on just wondering about some events I can hold? drags, mud pit, trail ride? stuff like that. i'm really into music so i might kick around the idea of some sort of entertainment... The whole "no alcohol on the premisis" has me kind of worried since i'm a glutton for booze. maybe i'll just have camping in my backyard for those who want to drink?

This is early stages so any input or questions are welcome.

Lew

I would be up for it if the dates work for me and i could find someone to carpool with. The no alcohol thing is kind of a downer. Im up for backyard camping and drinking tho.

I;m open for this event. If we have it in June we could run the same course as the Somerset GNCC race they have in May 22 , 23rd. I'll be there racing that on "REX"
