View Full Version : 1982 honda 185
I have a option to buy a 1982 honda 185 for 40 bucks, the guy says the pulsar coil to the CDI is bad so it has no spark. Is this something that could happen, this will be my first trike. I have atvs and a dirtbike and have been wanting a trike for a while, is there anywhere I can buy parts for this. thanks Jon

I recently bought a 1982 and 1983 Honda 200E's (close to the same as you have in a way) and these were my first ATC's. They needed some work and Ebay has been a great help, along with the guys here in the classifieds. So yes, you can find parts for them. Just search Ebay and post an ad here.... Also, working on them has been a LOT easier with all the knowledge that is shared at this site!
I have a question is the 185s a full manual or does it have a automatic clutch, thanks

You have to shift it but no clutch to pull in , just let of gas and shift . The gears should be all down nuetral being all the way up at the top

for 40 bucks pick it up we'll help you get it running
The guy I was gonna buy it from blew the deal so now I am looking for another one. I promised my 14 year old son I would get him a trike and he is holding me to it.
Anybody on here that lives in the central mass /conneticut area have a trike that needs work for sale, or a good running one for cheap.

Heh, I'm living a similar story! I just brought home an '83 ATC185 that my co-worker buddy sold me for $50. Needs a front tire and carb work, but otherwise is all there, if a little ratty. I boiled the carb this afternoon to clean the congealed goo out, but since putting back together, it's overflowing.. will have to pull again tomorrow, but I suspect the needle float is worn too far.
Good luck on finding a machine.. I think it's all a matter of patience and perserverance!
