well... i left the bike out all night for the first time, usually i keep her in the garage with me. now i go to work today early in the morning (i ride my trike to work), i fire her up second pull with the choke on. let her sit at my work from 9:30 till 4:30. I tried to start her and she wont. she almost started a couple times but did not start. (this never happens, ever! i just fixed the carb fuel/air ratio and the trike turns over on either the first pull or the second) i pulled this trike at least 50 times choke on choke off choke half way/ pushing the throttle not pushing the throttle... i even turned the ignition off pushed the throttle wide open and pulled it Just to clear it in case it was flooded.... still nothing. i tried every trick i know. i just dont know and i seriously almost beat the trailprotrailprotrailprotrailpro out of it because i was so pissed off. it has compression and it HAS gas... and it usually starts on the first or second pull EVERYDAY! im just confused and hoping i can get some insight... please help your fellow three wheeler. thank you in advace!!!

Killswith on? Gas on? You should pull the spark plug and make sure it has spark. If it does, spray a little ether into the plug hole, put the plug back in and see if it starts. If it does, its a fuel problem. This happened to me one day after riding. It turns out my coil was bad, not while I was riding, but when I shut it off and tried to start it an hour later there was no spark. Thats where I would start.

Spark plugs will go bad with no warning . I hope your using an NGK thats the only plug to use IMO .
You should really keep a new spair plug and wrench with you all the time in your case .

Well... i kinda feel puzzled still.... Yes the ignition was on so was the gas.... (c'mon guys im not that lame lol) I didn't pull out the plug (yes it is an ngk) but i did get it started. I had to pull another 50 times but this time i didn't hold the throttle and it finally started. When it started tho, it was running like the choke was on (couldn't rev hi at all...) and made a pretty nasty smell of smoke. But i ran it and ran it and and revved it to redline untill the bike's throttle response no longer felt rough (ran it till it ran like normal, meaning it didn't sound like the choke was on anymore) and then i just let her idle. so basically i think i flooded it???? thats the only thing i could think. since it runs fine now. thank you to all for the help. im going to pull the plug and make sure we're looking good. also i will purchase another plug just in case i run into another problem. (now im glad i didn't beat the crap out of it) haha. thanks boys you all are the best. if it wasn't for you guys.... i dont know what id do. thanks again.

Did you leave your gas on while it sat? It may have leaked some gas down the cylinder. Not sure if that would happen, but it's a thought.

The Keihin carb that is on that 250 top end may not be set up right. Better check the ID numbers/letters on the side of the carb to see what it is.
Next would be to move the clip on the carb needle to lean it out.
Is the sparkplug in there now a NGK DR8ESL or equivalent? Buy a spare NGK DR8ESL plug at a auto parts store for $2.50, it is cheap insurance.

If you have not downloaded a manual, here is a link for a manual for a 1982 185s:
