Yeah, they do look good, especially the front! I dont like the oem 200x front fender, its too short and bulky for my taste. I run the 83-84 250R front fender on mine, and a set of fiberglass lo-pros on the rear. Now all you need is a nice set of red super scoops. Nice wheeler!!

Sorry guy's I can't see running a 250R fender on the old X. I think the R fender is just too round and modern looking for the X.. I have a new Maier fender on mine. I can't wait to get my low pro fenders painted up and on this thing.

I just thought I'd give the X some love because I've been spending all my extra $ on my TRI Z project. So...the X got a new number plate, an original blue seat, forks rebuilt with progressive suspension fork springs, the R fender, some new daystar boots and PJ1 oil. It does need the super scoops yet, thats next on the list. I'm also working on a +2 swinger for it...The +3 thats on it now will be for sale (it's just an extended stocker with X-systems bushings) The +2 will be powder coated. Can't wait for spring to get here! NICE LOOKING X's IN THIS THREAD!

I really wish you were able to complete that but I remember your situation........

Glad to see you back on board for another trike!! :beer

The 250R front fender looks great on the 200X (83-87) and the 250SX also with the 200X front end modded on there.

Shortline, here are some pics as requested. This is my auto x with the 83-84 250r front fender, and fiberglass lo pro rear fenders. I dont have any info on the rear fenders, I am guessing someone made them at some point of time... Let me know if you know anything. Thanks.

Thanks for the pics . Those are SRP or Sundahl Racing Products low pro fenders you have and very hard to find . I would like to find a set of maier low pro rears for a 200x . I havnt seen a pair in probably 20+ years .
I still have a set of srp super scoops for the tank , dont see those to often either .

Thanks for identifying them! I have been running them on there for the last 9 years, as long as I have owned the machine. They have a couple cracks in the back, and were this way when I bought it. They are some very stong fenders, and have been in numerous spills when I was younger, and taken all the abuse! When I got the bike it started out as a rolling chassis with fenders that I picked up from a guy in Sioux Falls, SD that I had won on his ebay auction. The guy stated it used to be a race bike, and had a very hopped up motor, but the motor was long gone and so were the racing wheels on the back and replaced with Chen Shens with ITP rims. The guy also had a 81 250R that was all hopped up from the looks of it, and I had a chance to purchase it for $200 at the time. I didnt have enough money, and had to let it go. I lost track of the guy, and he quit selling on ebay years ago. There are some crazy deals on craigslist though if you have the cash in hand and leave the house as soon as you see it. A couple months ago I seen a 87 tecate for sale for $200!!! All the thing needed was a flywheel (you know how it goes), and was complete. I could have gotten it, but couldnt cough 200 up on the spot at the time. I was unemployed, and just had a son born in march, abd have too many projects going on the way it was. At least now I am working, and if I see another deal like that, and I will, you better believe it will be in my garage. Sorry to be rambling on and thread jacking. I just wanted to let it all out. lol . Thanks again man, and lets see some more pics!!!

Does the 83/84 front end bolt on (triples and all) with no fabrication? What do you do about the bearings? Use the 250R bearings?

If you have the 250r tapered bearings thats the best way to go but the 200x bearings will work also . You will just need another washer so the spacing is good for the top tripple nut . Its a very easy switch and I believe you get like 3 more inches of suspension .

What have you done or can be done to get better or more travel in the rear?
