I have an old 84 200s (I gave it to my brother), and the rear right fender is cracked like 6-8 inches, and spider webbed in like 3 directions like 2-3 inches long. What is the best way to fix cracked/broken plastics preferrably without stitching or buying new! well, I wouldnt take maier new ones for free! they have no tool box! how dumb! lol thanks!
P.S. It was hit (clipped) by a Honda fourtrax 350 piece of crap quad golf cart ......just in case any 1 was wonderin!

I have have been tinkering with a product called "Three Bond Plastic Repair". While I haven't used it on any fenders, that I have been able to keep a eye on yet. I will soon. The fenders I did put it on seemed to be stronger. I sold the machine 2 days later. The guy that bought the trike thought it looked pretty good to him.

To use it you ruff the underside up a little. Then use the cleaner on it. Let it dry ( 5-10 minutes ). Then you put this glue on the crack. Then spray the catalist on it ( while holding it together ). Then you cut some of the material ( thicker fiber glass matting ) included and lay it on the under side of the crack. Coat the material making sure there are no air bubbles in it. Once coated spray it with the catalist. You can install the fender about 3-5 minutes later. Total time on a 6 inch repair is about 10-15 minutes, it will take longer the first time you use the stuff. if you put it on the bottom side, then you should only see the repair from the underside, and only the crack from the top. You could even paint it to make it less noticable if you want.
Dennis Kirk carries this stuff.

I need to use some of this on my one cracked 350x fender ( 9it's on the shelf right now ). I just haven't because of lack of time.

I truly like 3W orgs suggestion. Drill a bunch of 1/16th inch or smaller holes and then 25lb or more fishing line criss crossed and tied underneath looks a heck of a lot better the 1/4 inch holes and plastic tie wraps. The repair I did even lasted my wide open 5th gear crash yesterday!

I've been using Versa Chem 2 part epoxy, fast setting 15 sec. Comes in a double syringe can get at hardware or auto parts store. I put a thin coat, enough to seal crack or hold pieces together. Let it set fo 10 or 15 min then use a piece of plastic window screen and lay over the repair and coat it over, usually try to use small applications untill a good coverage is made. Several small mixes works best because this stuff sets fast and gets tuff to smooth out. I put this on the underside where a little paint can help hide if it shows. I've done this on bikes that get used everyday and have repairs that have held for more than a year and still holding.

i usually use rivets, and they hold together just fine, and a little model pait and they are not too noticible.

I bought a plastic welding kit for about $35. If you do a google search on plastic welder you can find it. I have used it on a couple of small repairs and it worked OK
