I'm looking to cover my seat to sell one of my 3 wheelers...need the money to fix the other two.

I wouldn't mind re-covering all three seats. I'd rather not pay $50 on eBay for a trike I will try to sell for $200 or so.

Is there any cheap/readily available materials you guys have used to cover them? I can try to find a fabric store that has something with a cotton bottom and plastic top, but is there anything maybe from WalMart? Maybe old clothes or tablecloths?

Thanks!

Any tips on where to get that? WalMart/Dicks? I don't know if I have any boating/marine stores close by.

Jo Anne fabrics or something similar to that. There is a good post somewhere on this site about seat recovering with marine grade vinyl, Search for it. I recovered my seat for about ten bux including the short staples and it turned out great.

It depends on what model trike you're working on but I don't really think a slab of material looks that great on a seat. It should be sewn to fit right. I've bought two covers from this seller now for $30 shipped after sending in an offer of $20 and they seem like decent covers: http://motors.shop.ebay.com/*ttcycle*/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_from=&_ipg= If you don't want the two-tone seat, they usually have an all black version but e-mail and make sure.

a Tarp and a staple gun works,,,keeps your butt dry  Depending where you are, Some fabric stores carry ski-doo grade seat vinal Good for -40 without cracking and 2-5 bucks a yard...

Found a Jo-Annes about ten miles away.

That writeup mentioned above said about $30 in materials and 2 hours time; did that mean just the fabric or will that only run me $5-$10? I have everything else.

Just wanted to get a rough idea of how much I need, a price, and how it's sold (square foot, yard, etc). Don't want to buy something that won't be wide enough/long enough.

make sure you get a marine grade,it will be better.ot is more expensive but if its worth doing its worth doing right.

i got enough to do 2 seats for 12$ and the place is a block from my house!, remember heat is the best tool you can have for this to make it look right it needs to be really sttretched, i would suggest getting another set of hands
