Like the title says im looking to see if there is a bigger lighting coil available, or if i can even put one on my 85 200x? Im not really sure how the electric system really works, so im curious to see if any of you guys have upgraded your 200x's.

I would like to do something about mine also! My freinds that ride new four wheelers laugh at my dimming lights!

ok the only thing now is ive searched around and there isnt any talk of how hard or easy its is to replace the lighting coil. Is it as easy as pulling the cover off the left side, and replacing it? Does anything else need to be changed if i replace it with a high output lighting coil?

Even with the high output coil your lights will still probably dim at idle since there is no battery to keep them bright at idle. You'll also need a higher wattage bulb to take advantage of the higher output coil.

I've used halogen bulbs in mine before and they are much brighter without changing the lighting stator . factory stator is a 60watt so to increase to 75watt isn't a big difference IMO . Go to your local auto store and match the 200x bulb up with a halogen auto bulb 60watt and your good .

That's probably your best bet. I agree that it isn't worth it to just go up 15 watts. A 75 watt bulb won't be much brighter than a 55 or 60 watt one anyway, if you can even find a 75 watt one. IIRC the bulb you want is a 9003.
