I was wondering if anyone has any info on setting the ignition timing on a 1984 atc110.
It has good compression and carb was rebuilt.. But a little low on power and carb adjustment only helps a little bit. The manual says to use a timing light but doesn't go into much more detail then that. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Please let me know any pointers you may have
Thanks

check to see if there is slack in the timing chain. if there is call your local honda dealer and they can tell you the correct time it should run.

no slack in the chain... Top end gaskets were done and timing chain is dead on. All I need is an idea of how to set the ignition timing..
With a timing light is set on the "F" mark at 1700 rpms.. I need to about where to set it static.. A hair before that mark?

To adjust static timing you remove the flywheel cover and the "F" mark should be lined up to the index mark by turning the rotor counterclockwise. When you line it up the point gap should just begin to open. The points shouldn't be open much just a little.
