I just got my 'new' 1980 110 running. This thing has sat in a barn for years and all I had to do was clean the points and carb and she runs great. The great thing is that it doesnt smoke. Only problem is I have no power going to the headlight. I have a black, brown, and yellow wire coming out of the frame into the headlight. I have no power on any of these wires. I checked them with reference to the green and the frame. I don't know if I should be expecting 6V or 12V or some other voltage but I've got no power. I expected that if it was running, I would have power.

What produces the power on these? What should I look into as a problem? Appreciate all the help.

There's a wiring diagram here, if that helps.

it is a 6 volt system

Good to know. I just put the whole headlight assembly off a 82 on it and it works. I replaced it back to the socket connections in the headlight box. It is dim at idle but gets decently bright at operating range. Maybe the 6 volt system needs a different bulb?
