So I have been abusing my 350x pretty hard the past couple of months and want to do a full service on it. I have already ordered a bunch of stuff but want your guys opinions on what else to do since I have never serviced a 350x before (just my ATC 70 and 200x's).

So far I have on the way:

D.I.D X-ring chain
Front Sprocket
Rear Sprocket
Clutch Cable
Oil
Oil Filter

The tank has zero rust so that doesn't need service, the throttle cable feels a little sticky so is that usually the cable or the thumb throttle? Should I grease the inside of the thumb throttle of I get a new cable? It usually feels sticky when it is cold outside if that helps....Also my clutch lever seems pretty loose, what kind of lever should I get? Just factory? Also my parking brake doesn't work (does anyones? I've never had one that worked....) so I'll be servicing that as well.

Anything else you guys can think of please let me know!
Thanks :beer

i'd get a clutch perch and lever off somthing like a cr or yz and get rid of the parking brake stuff. leave it in gear when ya wanna park.

what about checking wheel bearings and carrier, greasing everything and adding new brake fuilds, and checking you valve clearnces.

heres my check list for the 350X I just picked up
mechanical - clutch cable, clutch lever, carb rebuild, pivot bolt bearings and sleeves, check front axle bearings and seals, check bearing carrier and bearings, check valve and decompressor arm clearances,
cosmetic - renthal bars with spider A3 grips (stealing the bars and grips from my 450 infavor of 1 1/8), fix dents in the tank, new right side tank shroud, fix small crack in rear fenders (under the edge of the seat just need to make it stop cracking), OEM fork boots
Hopefully you can get some ideas from my list.

Ok my fenders have a very small crack between the seat and left side "fender" and I want to stop it from cracking anymore! What's the best way to do that?

drill a small hole at the end of the crack, that way it wont spread any further

Like Mudbug said just drill a small hole at the every end of the crack just slightly larger than the crack it. As far as repair, you can stitch it with zip-ties, or rivit a piece of plastic ot stainless to the bottom side of the plastics, or try plastic welding but hard to keep it from cracking back out.

Drill a small hole, take a razor blade and chamfer both edges on both sides.

go buy some plastex (it works great, used it on many sportbike parts and car parts and wont recrack easy)

fill up the groove, sand down, buff out, end of story.

http://plastex.home.att.net/ it comes from canada so you can only order it online.

It's really just a small hole, you probably won't even see it next to the zip ties where you stitch it back together

Man I really don't want to drill my fenders :(

dude you gonna have to or else it will get bigger in time. somthing very tiny and if you catch it now you dont have to ty-wrap stitch it up.

I didn't see anyome mention the decompression cable or a new plug. It may be a good idea to look into some fresh new exhaust gaskets on the head and where the pipes join together. Also maybe you want to look into changing your fork oil and your brake fluid.
