General census is... 3 wheelers are not allowed any where, and all the parks bow down to those 4 wheel things! I don't feel like gettin chased by the cops(anymore) or anything, just a good place to cut loose!:wondering

Can you list what places are not allowing 3 wheelers?

You probably already know this but Illinois is not great place to live if you want to do some serious riding, go West my friend if you want thousands of miles of trails and to ride out of your back yard...

Do you need a ORV sticker or anything?

Any weight or width restrictions on the trails in WI in case I wanted to bring the RZR-S along for my mom to drive?

Thanks.

I know it's a 5+ hour drive but there's a bunch of trails to ride up here too, taking you through a lot of awesome wilderness and towns for food/gas. ORV licenses are $16.25 for a year. Machines have to be 50" or less in width.

The Badlands in Indiana are close to you. I wish they were closer to me.

No Razors, or UTV's allowed in WI in general, they are to wide for ATV trails. Take a look at the WI DNR site it is explained better there.

I just moved out here in the country, so I thought I would be O.K. to just ride. NOPE! Believe it or not, I have miles of nothing around me right now, and all I did was go down the road maybe 300 feet from my front door. These rotten county cops arrested me for Driving on a Suspended License. I didn't even see his sneaky A** coming. Took me to jail and every thing! Nice welcome, Right! Mean while, my closest deliverance looking neighbor, rides his quad all over and pops off rounds at any thing that moves. I'm not a trouble maker, nor do I want them to take my bikes, so I think I'm going to try the Badlands, or I could just knock a couple of my teeth out and get a gun so they don't notice me! Any how Thanks for the responces and as for friends and trikes or bikes. I am from the streets of Chicago, most of my friends only ride the bus or a cab! The welcome I got around here, these backward goat sex feinds can keep to there selfs! As I will!!!

rickybudz where are you at in IL? I agree there aren't a ton of places to ride around here. I wish we had atv trails like we do snowmobile trails. I can ride everywhere on my sled! The trail goes right through town lol.

I have no idea where you live but I have lived in Northern Illinois all my life and nothing you describe matches what I have seen but your right and your not the only one to come out of the big city and think you can ride any place you want on a motorcycle or ATV.

I first started riding my ATC90 back in 1971 then we rode any place we wanted nobody ever said anything even when cops seen you along side the road they just waved at you or gave you a thumbs up, this all changed over the years when morons started removing or modifying their exhaust so they looked and sounded cool or so they thought, these morons grew up to be the same morons that run straight pipes on their Harleys and usually modify the exhaust on their car or truck to be loud before making the first payment you have probably seen this morons they are easy to spot they will be wearing the tee shirt saying "Loud pipes save lives" a badge of their stupidity, noise became such a issue soon as a cop seen you he pulled you over and wrote you a ticket even if your ATV was a quiet as a Honda 50 or ATC90, next came the lawyers anytime someone got slightly injured on private property then they sued the land owners so now when when a land owner sees you their getting out their gun to run you off and or calling the cops on you.

I use to ride EVERYWHERE!!! Find a power line their was trails that followed them then trails branched off the main trail by the power lines, find any creek and follow it same thing their was tons of trails, ran into a pasture with a fence you open the gate entered then closed the gate, you left the gate "as found" never a complaint, you never rode where their was livestock, never a problem until the morons who abused their freedom to ride thought it would be cute to chase livestock, before you know it gates were locked!
Use to follow the railroad tracks and find tons of trails to ride, all part of the past now you go to jail.

Sad but true their are some places to ride in this area but if you want quality riding your going to have to travel, I rarely ride any place around here I guess I am spoiled since I have seen the real riding areas for a quick fix you might see me ride at the Badlands in Indiana or The Cliffs in Marseilles, Silver Lake dunes in MI, havent hit the trails in WI yet been wanting to.

FYI WIkid500 The standard RZR is only 50" wide to comply with trail width rules, I know WI use to have the rule you cant take anything on the trails you "set in" only something you "set on" but I heard the rules were going to change, they also had a weight limit, my RZR-S is 60" wide so if they still have the same rules its out, not a big deal I have 3 wheelers and quads that I can ride... The RZR would have been a chase vehicle to carry lunch and extra gas...

Sunday I had a group of quads with no baffels invade my property. It started at 10am and ended when my neighbors called the cops. I tried to talk to them and told them to get off MY PROPERTY and SUNDAY MORNINGS are a NO NO but they were welcome to ride anyother day, just NOT SUNDAY. The " KEEPING IT REAL" atitude started with them cursing me out and running in every direction but off my land. I was walking back to my house to call the cops and they showed up as I got to the door. I LET EVERYONE RIDE MY PROPERTY but with rules and now-a-days I'm rergretting it. No one cares or follows the rules so it leaves guys like me with a hard decision and not let anyone ride at all. It makes me look like an arse but hey I have the one of the only spots to ride in a state thats wall to wall buildings. As of now it's INVATATION ONLY

Well, you might consider riding a bit down at St Joe State Park. It's about 45 minutes south of St. Louis here in MO. ScottZJ is planning a little fiasco March 19-21. Here's the thread if you're interested: ST JOE state park Spring Ride (http://www.3wheelerworld.com/showthread.php?107382-ST-JOE-state-park-Spring-Ride)
