Hello I bent the valves on my 83 200x can i use the valves and cover from my200s on my200x with out changing the cam?
or do i need to use the cam from my 200s as well?

Yeah they should all interchange. I have a 185s cover/rockers on my 200x so I have a decompression lever.
How did you bend your valves, and have you fixed whatever caused it to happen?

thanks I am not shure what caused it??? i think the exhaust valve stuck open and when the piston hit it, it bent it so now it will not seat. the piston looks fine and the timeing looks right.

just put a new valve in.if motor is tired do a top end rebuild while your in there.

thats whats pisses me off the most I just put $650 into the motor haveing it rebuilt in september!!then this happens

why did the valve stick?did you do the rebuild?

No I had it done at a shop! and he did'nt know what cam was in it. and tride to ajust the valves he said.. the guy i got it from said it had a larger cam and carb on it and the guy at the shop told me the same thing but that he had know idea what cam it was or what the carb was from so he ajusted the valves as close to the stock settings he could. I think he got them to tight.

Aftermarket high lift cam X stock valve springs = bent valves :idea:. Very simple equation . More lift than the springs can handle :crazy:

shortline is right on the money i bet. Get yourself some good springs and retainers or sell that cam and get a stock cam

that what I am going to do !! new cam and valves put the old girl back to stock!!!! Thanks for all the help guys
