Anyone know if any other Yamaha axles (from quads or such) will bolt up to a YTM225DX?
I think my axle might have a slight bend to it and I know of no aftermarket ones available for this model. Durablue does not make one, do they?
Would the axle from a Yamaha Wolverine, or a 225 moto4 work? Its tough to find a good used axle for the 225DX
Thanks,

Sometimes you can get your axle straightened.

Who can do that? Machine/Fab shops?

Hey, I think you can use the axle from a Moto 4 from the same year range (83'-85').
Here is a link you can check out:

Check out the "Fitment" section.

83-85 YTM-200E axle will fit, they are make stronger also.
A YFM-225 Moto4 axle will not work because the driving shaft is centered.
Maybe a axle from a YFM-200 will work, but I'm not sure at all.

Yep, a machine shop can do it.

Serious? Why are they stronger? Different part numbers I'm assuming...?

Yes the 200E axle is make stronger and they use a bigger thread and nut to hold the hub on the axle.

I'm working on my buddies 200E beside my 225DX, and I noticed that. I bet its because it does not have rear suspension so it has to be beefier...perhaps the 225DX axle has less rotating inertia and that is why they made lighter?

So if I buy a 200E axle it will bolt right up with NO modification what so ever??? Cool!

I always considered the 225's a cross, sort of half utility half sport, the DR with reverse. Along with the rear suspension they have smaller wheels than the 200's. The 225's run 22-11-8's if I remember, (sold the ones I had), and the 200's run 25-12-9's with no suspension thus the stronger axle as the 200's are full utility. As noted the axles do interchange and if you ride hard and your making the change anyway, I would use the stronger axle but in this case with one being readily available from kirby that would get you going now!
