I have a 1986 honda atc 125m that has two cracks in the rear fenders . I have heard about some kind of platic weld repair kit. Has anybody used this plastic weld on honda atc red plastic ? How good is this product ? Where can i buy this plastic weld kit for red plastic and how much does it cost ? Let me know your input . Thanks , Blair

Save your money on all the plastic weld kits and just get you a cheap soldering iron for around 2-5$ and find some old broken fenders.
First you take the soldering iron and melt both sides of the crack and stick them together til it dries. Then take the iron and move back and forth on the crack perpendicular to fuse it together more. This will create a small troth where the crack was. This is where the old plastic comes to play. As, you melt the extra plastic to fill on the troth and smoth it out. I have done this a few times and it has always came out looking good and holding great.

Thanks for the information . I will test it on a old piece of plastic before trying it on my good set of fenders . Thanks again for your info and your help .

It needs to be the same type of fender plastic, you cant just use a piece of red plastic, it wont hold. Be sure to cut some thin strips from an old honda fender, as mentioned above. Plastic welding takes a LONG time to do, so be sure to find a comfortable position, and dont inhale too many burnt plastic fumes!! If you leave the plastic on the soldering iron for too long, it will turn black, and if you use that to fuse together, it will turn out black/brown colored, so be sure to have somthing to wipe it off with if this happens, like a wet rag. Good luck, and post some pics of your good job!

I really need to fix a small crack in my OEM 350x fenders....it hasn't gone all the way through but is slowing getting wider.

I'm sure it's the last thing you want to do but drill a small hole at the end of your crack. It'll stop spreading.

Use a good heat gun too. This also gets rid of white makrs "bend marks" in plastic.

I have a few "Bend Marks" in my plastic, can you further detail the process in which to eliminate those using a heat gun?
Thanks

Well just turn it on and start melting. Dont hold it too close but close enough. You will see the color come right back if there not too bad. Make sure you do it on the bottom too. The heat gun can also get rid of scratchs. I use a paint scrapper to get rid of bleached plastic. Here is some pics.

Watch this video concerning Plastic Welding. This guy is good and should give you an idea of what you'll need to do.

He makes it look easy. I think it's easier when you've got some structure to work with. On a fender, it seems much harder to get deep enough without destroying the structure of the plastic. I did a plastic weld on my 250SX headlight. Looks like hell, but it holds together.
