I know there are a lot of members here who run the Paul Turner high-rev pipe on there 85-86 250R's. I've been wanting to get one for a while, but I have a favor to ask of all of you. I modified my clutch cover/waterpump and have doubts as to whether or not the high-rev will clear in that area now. My waterpump housing sticks out 1.5" farther than a normal 250R's, because I added a centrifugal governor to control my powervalves.
What I need, is a clear picture, taken straight on from the right side of the bike, in the area where the high-rev pipe passes by the waterpump.
Also, I need your professional opinion. Do you think the pipe would clear your waterpump okay, if your waterpump stuck straight out an additional 1.5"?
Thanks for your help.
(This is the type of pic I'm looking for)

Mine is out in the trailer in the dark. If you still need it let me know and I'll snap a pic tomorrow. I think it will be tight but it may work.

Ain't gonna fit without some modification. I'll try to get a pic for you. The pipe goes right across the wp cover.
Edit: here's the pics. Sorry about the dirty R. I promise to clean it soon.

Even though your camera work was sheer genious, I had a hard time looking at the pics, because of the filthy R. There's a tremendous build up of filth & muck on that bike.
Thanks again for the help Dammit!, and thanks for offering JohnR., but no more pics are necessary.

Glad it got sorted out and too bad you can't fit one, its the best pipe for an R IMHO.

The esr pipe will clear with lots of space. I have run both pipe's, and the ESR Is my favorite so far. You can pull the clutch cover off without removing the pipe.

Well, with my PT high rev, to clear my powervalve we had to dent it in maybe 1/2 a inch at the top just to clear the cylinder.
I know it would be hard denting a brand new pipe. But anything will work!

Looks like ESR is the way forward then eh?Nope, I'm gonna stick with my FMF. I've never cared for the looks of the ESR. I didn't even want to go through all the work to mount the Paul Turner, but the high-rev was just too sexy for me to resist. I just love the smooth flowing lines of it.
