Got another elan :D

So tonight I bought another Elan, my favorite sled. Shes great shape but needs a little work. Needs one boogie spring replaced and the seat recovered.Thats about it. It has the 250 twin which runs perfect and the body is perfect. Has a newer style 82-83 hood on it which is perfect.I am gonna take the ski widers off. Never liked them Almost new track also. Super pumped with this new sled picked up.:D

How much you get it for? Looks like it's in nice shape.
I just got another one too, but it's got a seized motor. Everything else on it is better condition than mine though.
only cost me a dozen beer!

Well he had it up for 500 but i know the guy well, just say i got a deal ;D. I love these elans, have two functional at the moment plus alot of parts. Actually the guy i bought if off has a very good body so possibly three elans will be on the go. Hey rural Newfie By post up spme pics of your elan you got. Dozen beer sounds good for the elan. Only for your 8 hours away i'd have lots of parts to help you out.

It's at the guys house I got it from. I had to put a cdi, carb, fuel pump and a couple things on it to get it running. He had it stored for summer.
I did it on my day off and of course all the snow melted, so I left my gas can there hoping to go back and start it up on the next snowy day I had off.
When i got there it was just getting dark and the wind had knocked over the gas can and dumped it all out, and I didn't feel like walking to the gas station for more.
So there it sits until I have a day off AND there is snow on the ground. When that happens, I'll get some pictures.

He has a twin elan there too, and the one with the seized motor.


I also got a 83 200atc for free from him. He just scored a big red 250es for dirt cheap and he was in a good mood, hehe.

Deals are always good, Im pumped to go for a run tommorow, We got hit bad with snow on fri, 40cm and by fri we should have another 25-30cm built up, Next weekend will be a good for sure.

The sidoo will undergo a major cleaning, Since i got it i have taken off the ski wideners, replaced the tie rod ends and installed a new headlight along with new plugs/ wires and wear bars. Very soon hopefully ill get a new seat cover as well. Im 99.9% postive that the muffler isnt for an elan but i have an Orignal muffler from a twin elan to put on it.

I ended up cutting wood a lot longer than I thought so I never made it to get my ski-doos, but my buddy is on his way over soon and he's bringing his truck, so I can drag the sleds and ATC home. I WILL have some pics today haha.

Well I got it running, but without a primer it's a trailprotrailprotrailprotrailprotrailpro to start, so I haven't rode it home yet. I got a couple pictures though!

Looks pretty good, No trouble to make her look great. Im really pumped now, There a winter storm/ blizzard warning for our area fri so on the Elan I go. :D

Haha I'm not so worried about lookin good as i am runnin good. I went back over with some gas in a squirt bottle and got her runnin but the ski's aren't aligned on it so it wouldn't steer straight (or at all). I would have aligned them but it was getting dark and the power has been out in this whole area all day.
I CAN'T WAIT TO RIDE THIS THING!!!!

I did 5km's on my buddy's bravo 250 tonite, he just bought it but it but needs carb tuning for sure.
I do need some elan parts, if you have some to get rid of we should hook a deal up.
We can ship a pretty huge, heavy box (wooden, steel, whatever) for a pretty cheap price through Gosine's Trucking if there was an assortment of parts I need that you were willing to part with.

are spots ive done some welding and is getting ready for fresh paint.

Well guys as you may have seen in my other thread in the open forum there wont be any new pics of the elans. The oragne elan was the one that started the fire, and lost the other one as well :P
