Does anyone know the difference between a kx and a kxt cylinder? When I did my rebuild on my 84 tecate I bought a sleeved jug off of ebay instead of having mine replated.(saved a ton of money) when I received it I noticed that there was a verticle brace in the exhaust port that was not in my current cylinder. It now feels like it has 10hp more and twice the low end as my old jug (which didnt need a rebuild until I got my hands on it). Did I end up with a kx jug??---Joe 8)

that is a mod that i have heard alot about...i have never wanted to risk breaking something just to see if it works..but it is suppsedto, i am satisfied witht he power that my t-3 already has and wouldnt mind increasing it..but i wouldnt even try it untill i seen it done before and know what is needed then i would do it :D
That's what Team Green did back then for the 84/85. Convert the KXT Cylinder into a Trot-Line weight and Switch to a whole Top end & carb from an 83 or 84 KX250.
You may have an 83 KX cylinder.

I have a ported/polished 83 kx top end, never put it on sold the bike before, the porting and bridges are worlds different. I am told it makes alot more power. I still have it, its been sleaved, never run will sell for $150, if this seams high, I have over $500 into it and not gonna let it go for nothing.
