So heres the deal. I spotted this beauty on craigslist the other day for $250. Decided that I may call him and offer $200. The only reason is that my 84 200s needs around $4-500 worth of work to get her back in good standing (top end rebuild, all cables, seat, bearings, gas tank, and misc.). I figure this would be a good way to get back into a hard tail cheaper then doing mine up for right now. I talk to him, and he tells me the bottom dollar is $200. At the end of the conversation, he tells me that he has an 84 Suzuki 250E quad that lost spark. If I can get it to fire, he will give me the 200s. So an already long story short I was in the truck immediately to go get both bikes.

This machine needs a front fender, handlebars, shifter, headlight, taillight, and well that's about it to make it a good runner. I put one of my extra recoil starters on it, and it fired in a couple pulls and purred like a kitten with NO smoke.


The mudfalps are in good condition, front forks not bent, gas tank is near mint! chain guard is good, brakes WORK!!!!!!!!!!

Couldnt be happier to be back into a hardtail! Its been to long.

Just wanted to share, and brag. Bassically because I dont always come across deals like this. The Suzuki will not take much to get it running. Even if I have 8 hours in the thing I still come ahead (well for what I pay my mechanic)! In case your wondering, previous owner just recently did a head gasket on it. So the extra leakage in the pic is already been taken care of.

Just a little TLC and we will be rockin!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!! Future plans include a trailer hitch (hint hint) so I can pull around a little trailer at TF with a cooler full of beer for my homies.

My guy Chad that works for me knows the guy personally. He told me the things its been through, so I was a little "open minded" when I went to check it out. Yeah its been thrashed, but like all Honda's this sucker is a surviver! Couldnt belive the forks are straight!

It did come with a seat, but its trash (good pan though)

I would be interested in a good condition no rips seat. Otherwise I will see what I can do about recovering it. Maybe give my good buddy's at Cosmic Quads a call..........

If anyone wants to see what they have I would be interested in a headlight, handlebars, and clamps, and........ well a front fender if availible.

I was going to pull some of the parts off my 84 for the time being, until I have the time to completely go through that.......

Thanks Steve, it was the sht hangin with you and your eastern speaking friends in 08 lmao. I thought you were making fun of how I called the tank "near mint".

The tank is really really nice. It was one of the big selling points when I spotted it on Craigslist. The decals have a few scratches, otherwise the thing shines! No rust inside or out, love it. On my 84 I had the tank pinhole leak on the outside bottoms both sides from rust.

This is an 85. It was one of those barn finds. This kid bought it off a farmer that didnt like it when he bought it in 85, parked it, and it sat till this guy picked it up and terrorized it to where it sits now.

I dont hold any grudges like that. I hope we get to ride again some day. Your freakin crazy on that X, and I need you to check out the bigbore we've created!

For TF I want a trailer for it. That way when we cruise to shoe tree we can just load that sucker up! Bring a boom box and everything!

If Im not mistaken, the same cylinder bolts onto the 200x. So one kit covers 14 different bikes!
