i know you can normally get a kit to bypass your oil pump (includes gaskets and stuff not to expensive), look around. then yes u can mix the oil yourself

Depending on how the pump works I would keep it. On Sea Doos when you punch the throttle the oil pumps lets in more oil, at idle less oil.

It's pretty simple really. Your oil tank connects to your oil pump and your oil pump connects near your carb. Remove your oil tank and the lines to the oil pump and from the oil pump to near the carb. Make sure you put some kind of a vaccuum plug where the oil line connects to your carb, and that's pretty much it. Mix your oil to your gas by what is recommended by your premix maker, some recommend different ratios for their products. Welcome to the board, by the way. Also use the search function near the top of the page, there is tons of info on here about the yamaha yt125/175. You will even see about suspension kits for the yt125/175 on here. You will get some premix oil out of your oil pump of course, but it's just something you have to clean up till it runs out. You do not have to remove the oil pump or dsiconnect the other throttle cable to it if you don't want. There are ways to mod and remove the oil pump and you can custom make a throttle cable, but concentrate on getting your trike back together and enjoying it some first. Also my philosophy on premix is, since you have a fun trike and not a racer, a little too much premix beats not enough any day. Also you can still find new high preformance parts for the yt and some neat used parts. The yt is a fun trike, they are pretty quick and they are killer wheelie machines. If you plan on keeping the trike for a long time, my advice would be to start looking for parts to main your trike for the future and stockpiling them if you can afford to. Make sure to change your engine oil with a nice quality oil and keep it changed regularly. Make sure you have a nice chain and that your wheel bearings and brakes are all in good working shape. Don't forget a helmet! If your not careful, your yt will put you on your butt very quickly, don't ask me how I know. There are several people on here that have very nice yt175s. The sweetest one on here was done by a guy called "the tecate kid". Do some searching and you will find some neat info.

Do me a couple favors. I hope you changed your engine oil for one. Wear a helmet for safety and make sure in your pics that you are wearing a helmet. And don't ride your trike at wide open throttle in the cold for more than 30 -40 seconds at a time. In the cold dense air you take a big big risk of cold seizing your engine. It means you will have to get a new piston and your cylinder bored and I don't think you will want to do that right after getting your trike going. I hope you will download a shop manual for your trike and make sure that you will do all the required maintenance. Changing oil, adjusting the clutch and brakes and chain. Making sure your wheel bearings are in top notch condition and things like that. If you do, your yt will have a long and happy life and it will cost you a lot less time and money in the long run. Have fun, be safe.

Hay guy well it run and sounds strong i am having a problem with the choke cable it has a crack sleve and it does not move. I tried to lube it up and it still womt move so when i drive it for a while till it warms up i try to give it gas and it bogs down. I think that the choke is staying closed and flooding it out because i put it in nutral it reves up fine untill i put a load on it it bogs down and dies what do you guys think about this. Yamaha part no are (plunger set is 20E-1410A-00-00)and the (cable is 5V6-26331-02-00) they do not make the plunger set anymore but i think motion pro has the cable would any of you guys have any of these parts i would buy them or if some one has a extra cable laying around that would be ausome well let me know what you guys think about this problem with the machine bogen down thanks im taken pictures today have to wate for the battery to charge thanks again

The parts you can still find new. Ebay is actually a good source for the nos parts. Cables are easy to get and you can usually reuse the plunger. Also if you can a good choke valve from a mx175, then you don't have to use the whole cable. The choke valve will unscrew off the mx175 carb and bolt right onto the yt175 or yt125 carb.
