I already have the axle out, but I cannot get the bearing holder out of the frame. The hole on the brake side is big enough to get the bearing out, but the hole on the chan side isn't. I figure the bearing holder needs to come out to replace them. Any tips on getting it out? I checked a service manual, it just tells me to remove the bearings, not much help

Have you removed the 3 long bolts that secure it into the frame? if so then its probably just the corroded aluminium holding it in and might need a bit of a bash with a lump of wood and a hammer to shift it.

It's been so long since I had a stock 70, but let's see if I can help. You have the axle out, so that should mean you have the brake drum off, right? Make sure you have the brake shoes removed. Also make sure you have the rod that works the brake shoes off and make sure you have the lever arm removed from the brake actuator shaft. Then you have to remove the brake actuator shaft. Once you do this, then make sure the 3 bolts holding the bearing carrier are removed. Then what you have to do is roll the bearing carrier upside down in the frame. Once you do this a good bit of the bearing carrier should be hanging down below the frame, did you make sure to take the bottom guard off the bottom of the frame? It's just a stamped sheet metal piece held on by 8 or 10 screws. Once the bearing carrier is rolled upside down then work the left side of the bearing carrier out of the bottom of the frame more and you should be able to remove the carrier. It may take a bit of work, but once you do it the first time, then it will be a piece of cake to get out any other times. The atc90/110 bearing carriers come out the exact same way. And also once you get it out, you will see how to get it back in. Be patient. Even know it seems darn near impossible, it will come out. It's a japanes jigsaw puzzle. LOL Don't try to force it or use a hammer, you'll only bust the bearing carrier and you will be less than happy. Have fun and let us know how it turns out.

I have everything off but the cam for the rear brake will not come out. I have the actuator arm off but the cam will not come loose. I sprayed some WD 40 on it last night and today I'll try heating it up, i hope it comes out. Anymore suggestions?

Just grab the actuator cam with a pair of vice grips and work it back and forth. Did you make sure to take the lever off of the back side of the cam? The cam slides out on the brake shoe side. And you may have to try some PB Blaster or something different.

well, I got the bearings changed by prying the frame apart enough to get the old ones out and the new ones in, but I still could not get the brake cam to come loose. It pretty frozen up in there, so for now, the wheeler isn't going to have breaks. But before I let a bunch of people ride it, I'll bring it to the dealership and let them break the piece and track me down a new one.

Once you have the drum off you can put a crescent wrench on the brake-shoe side of the cam and wiggle it back and forth. I'm pretty sure there are O-rings on that shaft and they will freeze up and stick. To get the cam loose on mine I had to put a 12" crescent wrench and 30" cheater pipe on it just to get it loose enough to turn.

Well, if you had to pry the frame apart, which is a horrible idea, then when you get it all back together, I would say your trike won't go in a very straight line. And don't put the carrier back in till you get that brake cam freed up and fixed. You won't want to ride the trike without a brake, not very smart. But to each their own. And yes, the idea of the adjustable wrench is better than a pair of vice grips. Good luck finding the brake cams. I haven't seen any for sale for awhile.

I did get the cam loose, it took the biggest crescent wrench in the garage, some heat and a friend, but it came out. I got it cleaned up, but back in and it stops like a dream. Thank you for your help guys. I really appreciate it.

I'm glad you got your brakes working again. And please make sure you trike is tracking straight, those stock frames are't all that sturdy.
