A co-worker offerd me his Honda Big red 200?? (not sure of model) for $300. He says its in very good condition, only used to cruise the bush when he went hunting. Its been sitting around for about 4years and he just wants it out of his way. What i know about, 200cc, 5 speed, no revers, pull start, front and rear racks, good tires. When i go look at it is there any come in problems i should look for or pricy parts that like to wear out? since its been sitting i really dout its going to start so i can run it thru the gears. but since i work with this guy will have to see him every day i dont think hes going to sell me junk. Thanks for the help.

Sounds like an 83, no reverse. Must be chain drive, I believe it should have electric start???

no pics, and have been working alternating shifts so i havent got it yet. But it turns out its a 200s not a BR. what can you guys tell me about this? what makes it not a big red? from what ive put togther, it looks to have no light, no electric start and smaller tires?
also, read about swaping over xr200 cam, carb and head gasket. is this worth it? ill be making a new intake box with cone filter and new pipe. what other upgrades should i look at doing? not looking to speed big money on it. thanks for the help. hope to get it sunday, and ill post pics.
