Ok I know these are just pics but this new toy throttle pauses and is not real responsive. Any body with a though plz post, I see maybe a hose missing and not screw about idle etc. The guy I bought it off of said the carb was just done but, would it not show it ??? no gaskets or screws looked turned to me, anyway thanks

take the carb apart & clean it real good! One of the jets might be clogged up.

It's hard to tell whether it's been gone through. It doesn't look like one of mine after I've gone through it, but some people don't pay attention to the outside. It's possible that the jets were changed out with the wrong size. You might have to take it apart and see what jets are in it. Before doing that, you might try to raise the needle one notch. This should increase response from start to about half throttle. On my 200s, it would die if I stabbed the throttle, and after I raised the needle (that's lowering the clip) it was much better. Still bogs though. Eventually I will have to try larger jets myself.

for the sticky throttle, is the cable new? as for the carb it sounds like a clog somewhere. a carb off a Honda XL250 will fit exactly if you're going for more response, it is push pull though. IMO

Is it missing a tube on that bottom right picture ? seems to me if it was cleaned the screws would look like they were at least turned as it was not run after the clean just dust on this old barn find. I see these rebuild kits on ebay are they hard to install and do? or just get a honda dealer to rebuild as I have two to do

if its not responsive or slow to respond its prob just dirty which would cause an air or fuel issue. alsi make sure all breathers are clear, especially big one on the underside of the air box

yeah there is a large diameter ( maybe 5/8") breather with a plug on the end of it that comes out of the bottom of the air box. it clogged a lot on me, usually snow that melted and froze or just mud.
