Well I dunno about anybody else, but 2009 was probably the worst year of my life. Usually when I'm feeling down a ride will make me feel better. I was in such bad shape last year that a ride wouldn't even help. But who gives a rat's arse about all that. It's 2010 now and my year has started off with a bang so far, and that's the way it's gonna stay! Personally I didn't do much for riding last year, but that's gonna change this year for sure. My Tecate 250 needs a little sprucing up and the 500 is in 1000 pieces, but I have an R that runs perfect, the KLT, and the 110. I'd like to take the R out, but the only problem is it would have to be at a venue where it's not too rocky or muddy. I know, I'm babying the thing... It's just too nice to mess up!

Well i just got back from NH, Im gonna have to say that is out till spring, unless we get a good freeze. But right now its just 4 inches of sloppy snow on top of 6 inches of mud. Where you thinkin? Id like to head out to that pit by Steve's place again (hint hint)

But, there is NO WAY we can get thru the power lines. IDK what to do with it all. That pit is gonna be there awhile because of the economy so I see myself getting that one area of the power lines passable......

Cranking down the roads 3/4 miles is nothing. But that 3 mile trip is a bit nerve racking for me, especially now...........

John, you are 100% right. Nothing clears my head better than 4 laps on my track. Then I'm out of breath and I just dick around. But, the track is a disaster as we speak.

The ONLY thing I can suggest is we park at my old job (the whole industrial park is basically closed), hidden from view and leave from there to that pit. Otherwise, there is no way were gonna do it from here this time of year without getting wet and frozen by the time we get home.

This year was so f-d up that we couldn't even count on the ponds to be safe and thats always a fun time.

Trust me, it isn't Global Warming, it's just how this winter rolled.....................................

Been a bad year for everyone i think. Everyone slowed down on trikin' but the hard cores kept their rides.

If we just get a cold spell again, which we will. The trails will be rock hard and easily passable. We need to hit the state park once this year. pawtuckaway SF would be ideal - nice groomed trails and bad ass hill climb (which deepa hasnt conquered yet). Or sugar river railtrail if you didnt want to scratch the rig.

Set a date and they will come, kid...

I can do the rail trail anytime. The R is ready to roll. Anyplace rough it's gonna be a little bit for me, unless I take one of the little trikes. Like I said before, the ol' Tecate needs a little here-and-there.

John (or anyone else for that matter), you can crash at my place anytime. I own my own house and I live alone. We can even drag some trollups back here if we can find some. :naughty:

OK, I got the beast running, Im still braking it in but I could do that at the pits, Just wont push it.

If you guys want to go soon Id say the 20th or 27th,, both Saturdays. My buddy said hes already heard a few guys out there.

Dont want to be a downer but the space is limited on parking and I dont want to blow my buds hospitality outa the water. Im thinking 6 bikes maybe 8 tops.

Im down with either weekend. But I have a riding bud that always goes with me, he just doest post up ever. So if I were to go, there would be 2 ppl. Also, he is usually the transport as my truck aint too swift on the highway.

I'm doing a 4x4 ride locally this month and probably something in PA next month. I'd like to do a ride though. Maybe later in April if I can get rat to ride with me and split the fuel bill. I found "Chepachet, RI" and I'm assuming that is the place you are talking about. Its about 200 miles or 3 1/2 hours away, not exactly close but not a bad day trip if we can split the driving duties.

I'd definitely be interested. I just got my first three wheelers this year and haven't ridden much of anything prior to that. But I'm a team player and a quick learner.

Id love to say that ALL are welcome but i was actually hoping for just like 6 people, now theres 8 lined up and thats maxed out. Its not just the 8 bikes tooling down the road pulling out of my buddies driveway but we do have to ride a lil ways on the road and too many bikes = someone calling the cops. ( so if you dont like riding on the road at all back out now, I usually dont have any problems and I ride slow and respectfully on the road, 90% chance NO PROBLEMS..... 10% chance we could get F@#%^D so ride at yur own risk )

Also there is a limited parking area

As much as it pisses me off, I simply cant go. I came down with a pretty gnarley case of the gout in my right foot yesterday and it has only gotten worse. Ive been taking double doses of these lil green pills to try and clear it up but it just wont go away. Its to the point where the only thing I can ride is my recliner.

Not sure if my bud is gonna go solo or not, I will know later on tonight.

If by some chance a miracle occurs and it goes away before morning I will let you all know.

Ive been looking forward to tearing up that pit all week, figures.......

So the ride could've gone a bit smoother, but all in all it was a good time for sure. Our first issue was my missing axle nut that holds the wheel hub on. When we met up this morning and the guys started to look at my trike it was very obvious that something was missing. So I got in the car and proceeded to drive all over Rhode Island in search of an axle nut with absolutely no luck. What we ended up doing is putting a nut that was too big and a washer on there and held it all on with the cotter pin. It was a rig to say the least, but it worked.

Then we started to ride and within the first ten minutes Matt (4Q2) crashed really bad and skrewed up his back. Poor guy.

I'd really like to thank Matt and Shawn for running back to Shawn's place and getting me the parts I needed to get up and running. You guys went above and beyond and I'll never forget that. Thanks to Gary too for having to go for the ride in the racing van.

I can't wait until I get to take a ride up there. That sand looks like a lot of fun. Is it pretty much all sandy terrain like that or is there a bunch of muddy parts too? Also, how far away from the trucks do you get? From the looks of the terrain in the pics I'd be willing to take my ice bike out to ride there. The only problem is the short track tank doesn't give me too much range. I'd really like to raise it up and do some riding with it, I've never ridden it besides on the ice with the 330 in it. Anyone run paddles out there? I have a set of V-paddles that I could use.

It would be tricky to run paddles because you have to ride a mile or two down the road to get to the pit. There is a chance we could drop the trike at the entrance to the pit and pick it up when we're done. That would be up to Matt (4Q2) though. There is a slight issue with law enforcement up there. We didn't have any issues that day though. There is a trail ride to get to the pit so you would have to keep that in mind when running paddles as well. There was a little mud there, but to much. Great time though. I can't wait to see the vids.

When I come up I'll just use a set of dirt tires then, I don't need to make it all that much work. What's the story with law enforcement? I got a ticket last year in PA that cost me nearly $300 and I don't want to do that again. Is it just the put there or are there some trails to ride as well?

The main part is the pit. There are trails there, but I'm not sure how many. We did do a brief trail ride.

hey guys guess im a little late to seeing this thread. that pit looks awesome though. im hoping to be able to do alot more riding this year than last. i tried making it to a couple rides with you guys last year but i could never get the time off from work. i was working 2 jobs to keep up with the newly purchased house. i hope you dont mind if i come along some time. i have talked to jeff a few times an actually bought a trike from him. if you guys dont mind me and a buddy of mine would like to come along some time. thanks guys

there are more trails than i brought fabio on. gets a bit rocky and technical as you get deeper. there is lots of Y's so we haven't followed them all yet. this pit is always better if we get a bit of rain. theres lots of drop offs and rain ruts so you gotta watch where you go. plus they take out sand, so that changes the cliffs

paul, i think the tecate is slow. compared to my zilla anyways. takes off like a rocket! and is plenty fast for the trails. just tops out to fast for me on the wide open areas. gonna try a 14 up front. but will pretty much climb any of those hills with no problem, has plenty of power.
