Oh, and I'm waiting on the 79 datsun kingcab to die so my friend can make it into a 4x4. Been waiting for the last 10 years. Just won't die.

those truck are very reliable. my grandpa had one for years the body fell off but it still ran so he had to get rid of it. didnt know how to fix the body panels. but they run forever.

I agree on the Toyota side, they are very reliable, We have 2 at work, both are 2wd ones but the old one 1996 I think it is, it has just been completely ragged all day everyday, has 128,000 miles on it, never broken down once, it has had broken back springs and little stuff like that, we have anew one too, 2002 one, really comfy ride like a car, goes really well, we've had 105mph out of it, the speedo only goes to 110! the new one has a turbo and will easily lay 2 10 foot lines when setting off, this is just a 2.4 Diesel!

Nissan trucks aren't the big huge giants that everybody seems to want to drive but really they aren't that bad. Its hard to beat Jap quality. (think Honda ;) ) Friends dad has one, early 90s I think. Pretty zippy and fun to drive lil truck and dependable too. You might want to consider an s-10 also. We had one at work last year and it had the living crap beat out if it and runs good after 170,000+.

Nissan is good, but TOYOTA IS BETTER.
Well I would just like to add that my 86 Toyota van(has the same engine they put in the trucks), it has 286,000 miles on the engine, NEVER rebuilt, oil changed every 10,000 miles, tranny never rebuilt. The engine now burns a little bit of oil, and the tranny shifts REAL hard into 2nd gear. Still running strong though, now that's what I call reliability.
