was wondering about how much play in my swingarm where it meets the frame is appropriate? i replaced the bolt and bearings 2 years ago, just checked it yesturday and it had quite a bit of slop in it, but i did notice that the bolt wasnt as tight as it could have been....some guidance would be much appreciated , thanks!

Hmmm, If all the worn parts were changed (collars, bolt, needles, seals etc), then it should have lasted longer than that?!
Anyhow, there shouldn't be ANY play in it. You never even said what model it is? Some models are notorious for other issues; Such as the 350X where the swingarm pivot bolts rides in the frame, the frame gets an egged shaped hole.
Poor installation techniques can lead to premature failures too and or if any part were re-used with new parts riding on them (like a used collar under a new needle bearing...... If you bought a whole All Balls kit, AND replaced the bolt, you should have been AOK and good for years, IMO.................

its on my 1986 200x. also i have read of people using nylon bushings to replace all of those components, I was going to make them and was wondering if i should make them for absolutly no slop at all or do i want just a little play for flexing?
