There are lots of kids riding around on TriZingers, 70s, 90's etc.
If they like riding and watching races / hillclimbs, etc, then yes, there is lots to do.
But it is an ATV park. There is a river just outside the park where they could swim, I guess.
There will also be a kids MX class this year for (probably 12 years and 125cc and under).

If you bring your kids believing that this will be a family friendly atmosphere that is safe and suitable for children, I think you might have some serious regrets. You've probably figured that out from the lack of enthusiasm in answering your question, as opposed to if you had asked "how much beer shoud I bring?"

It would be nice to know if there are ANY trike events that would be family friendly. I am trying to get my grandchildren involved with this hobby. Two of my grandchildren are twins and visit me often, love my trikes, and I kid you not, their first sentence literally was, "I wanna ride", after of course their first word, "Papa"!!! I wondered where this thread went!

There are other kids there but I will say they exsposed to very high degree of adult content from colourful language to binge drinking.
Certainly not all that go there are like that but just so you know.

Tim Sr. ??? OTC Jamboree? I've never done the overnight but plan on bringing my nephews this year. Not that there isn't a few beers and the slip of the wrench comment. I think the majority of the folks are there to ride...well maybe woop it up a little. Lighting really is empty until Sunday, as far as entertaining events...it's ride eat sleep...repeat, camping: save gas for Sunday! The #'s might make this event a tad more family friendly. Just a thought.

The information I have is on a more family friendly event to suggest for small children. Im not going to hijack a thread on another event to do that. I have no interest in arguing about what is appropriate for small children. You obviously have a different opinion. The guy will have to sift through the threads to get an idea of the atmosphere and decide if its appropriate for his small children. Thats what good parents do. Someone needed to tell him to give it some thoughtful research instead of allowing him to come into a situation he may not be prepared for.

I have been at Trikefest every year since '06 and I have taken my kids along since '07. You can take your kids there and they can be safe, but they may also be subject to seeing some drunken idiots behaving badly. If you pick your camping site away from the main crowd and away from the house on alky hill it can be a good time for you and your family. Most of the problems occur at night when alcohol consumption takes it's toll on people's common sense. TimSr had a real bad experience with peoples drunken judgement back in '07 and hasn't been back since. It's a shame because Sr. really was involved and played a big part in all of the events, and most of the trouble makers that ruined his trip haven't come back since either.
I for one am trying to encourage a family friendly environment. This is my families summer vacation, and we all look forward to it all year long. Other people bring along their kids, and we do have events (drag racing, group ride, and mx) that include the kids.
I guess the best advice that I can give you is to attend the first year without the kids to experience it for yourself. Then you can decide what is fit for your family and whether or not they will be able to attend the next year.

The environment is NO different that any other organized large group event i've been to. I've been to many, in many different states. It's largely an adult type format that is carefree and extremely fun. People go to relax, bs, eat LOTS of food and drink beer. Nothing wrong in doing such things as adults. I consider myself very responsible, but am very eager to let the show go on around me for the few days a year i attend tf. People don't go to concerts, or comedy clubs, or the local drag strip for that matter to be a model citizen. We go to have fun. That's what it is all about. I've had a blast every year since 05, and will be there in June enjoying everyones company. I've met many great people there over the years, and for that i am gratefull!

I will be attending trikefest 2010! This will be my first appearance, and to tell you the truth I cannot wait to meet NEW people along with their familys including KIDS. I was a kid once as well as everyone here in the forum.....I could of only wished my father or mother could have taken me to something like this, but these events were not around back then. I was born and raised to treat everyone with respect, so if children are around, then I guess I will be a child with them, and hold back on my adult activities ie: bad language, power drinking and so on.....I say if you have children that want to participate with their familys then I'm all for it, life is short with them......just need to use good judgements as I know you will anyway! See you all there in June. Ronnie I hope you can make it.....

I believe that is the ITP Trike Circus that Ditchmud is hosting.
I am going to lock this thread as of now before it gets outta hand. Answers to the thread starters questons have been answered and I believe he has enough info to make a informed decision. It may be re-opened later after some discussion.
