Hey yall,
I just picked up two three wheelers this week! I picked up a 1983 and 84 honda atc 110. I have a few ? about them. The 84 doesnt have a spark. The 83 runs but needs carb work and leaks oil. There seems to be an issue with the 83's transmission. when I get it in first gear sometimes the shifter goes past first gear and all the way tell it hits the foot pegs. What could be the issue it seems to shift through the gears fine? thanks andrew

Is the shifter slipping on the splines on the end of the shaft where it sits? If not, it likely sounds to me like a broken or stretched spring that keeps tension on the shifter, located behind the right side crankcase cover, which really is an easy fix. Check out # 1 and let us know.

is it dual range or not? I cannot remember all the trans work I did on my 110...it was a pain getting gears made.

Welcome to the forum. Good choice on getting the manual you ordered.

For spark, it could be one of several factors. I would personally check all connections, check the ground, disable the kill switch for testing purposes (then if it runs just pull the plug wire to kill it.)

You have a good 110 that runs, so you can slowly try one piece of the elec. system from the running one on the spark-less one. Remember to swap them one at a time, don't just swap everything at once as that doesn't narrow it down much.

EDIT - Yes they had the Hi-Low gears on the 110s. Mine doesn't move in high, so I just leave it in low.

FatShady, I think you got the "Stump Puller Edition" XD. No offense tho, its a shame it won't go into HI. casio, sometimes those kill switches can oxidize pretty badly if you haven't tried that already. I had white crumbly stuff fall out of mine on my 125M when I had the control apart. Just my .02 tho,
