wheelie king

Ok, for those of you that know me, You realize that this is completely outside my character, and I never participate in this kinda stuff, much less post about it.
Went riding today, and I was literally burning the "varnish" out of the carb on my 350x - pathetic. I don't ride NEARLY enough.
Anyway, on a break from riding where some people were gathering, this young man- ok- teenager --comes up to me and says "my buddy bet me 20 bucks that I can't beat that old threewheeler". I turn to him and calmly say "smart man". Go back to my business. Again, for those that know my 350x, it is nothing to sneeze at. And I am hardly the "check me out" type.
2 minutes later, the kid rides up on a z400, and says, "I put 20 on it myself. That's 40 bucks in your palm if you win in a drag".
I don't even look over at him, and one kick my X to a roar. Squash my cigarette and screw my helmet on my head. Game on. **** Whatever it was, it stirred the "north american man-beast" in me to life.****
I'll cut to the chase- Line up. Go . Banging through gears. Picked it up in 2nd and 3rd. Really started leaning into it from 4th on. Smoked him with 4 bike lengths. ......and room to go. Finish line, bet held true, and a hand shake (that I initiated)
40 dollars richer and a hill of spectators in applause, for that "old threewheeler" !!! Long live the trike!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
