Well, I spent all day in the garage sanding my scuffed factory fenders. It has maier fenders on it, but the guy gave me the factory white fenders with a perfect black mud flap when I bought it. I started with 180 grit, then 220, 320, 400, 600, 1000, anf 1500. I wetsanded with mop and glo with the 1000 and 1500 grit. The fenders are really smooth, now I only have to find a way to make them shine. I've tried a little buffing compound with minimal success, and I also tried a little bit of jewelers rouge with a polishing wheel, but it didn't do a lot either. Any tips?

very carefully glaze the surface with a blowtorch or heatgun, it will melt just a little bit of plastic on top and it will smooth out really glossy ;)

I have a 85 ATC250r that I either need to get so good used factory fenders or Maier, or refinish the low profile fenders that are on it. I am also a VA Beach native in Pungo that rides alot on my property and in the sand pit down the road.

I just finished sanding my fenders on my warrior, started with my orbital sander with 400 grit, then went straight to the dremel. THey make a plastic polish brush for it, I took some goop, yes the hand cleaner (my grandpa always used it to take out scratches in his glasses), and smeared the feneder with it and then took the dremel and went over it. Do not push hard or stay in one spot, it will melt the fender. Apparently the goop provides just enough lube to prevent instant melting, but allows enough melting to give shine :) Doesnt look too bad, I am almost done putting it back together, I will post pics, when im done. Oh yeah then I took and wiped the fenders and all down with a rag soaked in acetone, then washed completely.

Thanks for the tips guys, I'll be really happy if I can get these fenders looking good again. Nice looking R Mark....I've been looking for one around VA BCH for a while, but I really can'r find much room to ride now that Slade's is closed. I think I know where that sand pit you're talking about is, is it right along Old Princess Anne or whatever that road is?
