The other day I bought a Datsun 240 Z . I know what your thinking . Hotrod???? Well to make a long story short its set up for a small block chevy and 5 speed tranny . I have the motor and will obtain the trans . I want a 68 camaro but this will tide me over for a while . Out here in California anything older than 73 doesnt have to be smogged . Ca.'s smog laws are the strictest in the union . The motor is out of my old camaro which I turned into a pretzel . The AceMon will once again set off car alarms with his firebreathing 350 . It will take a few months because I want to do it right but I'm sure I will be most pleased with the outcome .

i would suggest a automatic tranny. it is a proven fact they are faster on the drag strip. if you drive long distances look at a 700r4, medium distance a 350 turbo, and short distance a power glide. add a set of 3.73:1 gears and you have a street killer!!! about 3000 rpm stall is all you will need in that light of a car. i have seen a few and think they are sweet!!!

Ive got a all original 72 240Z. I have been curious what is done with the rear end when you put a sb350 in. Do you run the stock independant rear end? Can it take the torque?

hey, if you ever need any parts for it, let me know, i got a parts datsun in the field , everything is there (and everything is in good condition)....body, wheels, brakes, hubs, stearing, interior, shocks, drivetrain, lights, everything its really nice...just kinda got left there by someone a long time ago and it was there when we moved here, and somehow we are the owners of it now, nice car, bad engine, and i dont really got the skills to get an engine and put it in a car.....i know alot about cars, but nothing like that, lol

just let me know if you need anything..why pay 100's at a junkyard or someplace else, when you can pay 10's and 20's, i hate to see ppl overcharged

Actually ATC NUT , I have a 280 z rear with 355 gears . It hold the 350's power because the car is so light . I am going to sell the scarab 350 conversion kit to install the JTR 350 kit which moves the engine 4" back toward the firewall . As for the auto , It would be much better if I were to drag it . I wont though , and am partial to stick shifts . so it'll be a 5 or 6 speed manual.
