You may have already noticed, the Trikefest/local riding/racer's lounge section has been consolidated. We now have the Rides, Races, Events, Locations (http://www.3wheelerworld.com/forumdisplay.php?64-Rides-Races-Events-Locations.)forum. Inside there, Trikefest (http://www.3wheelerworld.com/forumdisplay.php?20-Trikefest-Specific-Discussion) and Racer's Lounge (http://www.3wheelerworld.com/forumdisplay.php?43-Racers-Lounge) are now subforums along with the new section Local Riding area directory (http://www.3wheelerworld.com/forumdisplay.php?78-Local-riding-area-directory).
We're very excited about this new local riding directory because one of the biggest challenges we all face in this hobby is finding good places to ride. However, we need YOUR help to make it a success!
If you do not see your state in the directory and you have something to contribute, post an AREA WANTED thread in the parent forum (http://www.3wheelerworld.com/forumdisplay.php?64-Rides-Races-Events-Locations.)! We'll be adding areas as necessary.
This area is reserved for posting specific information on your local riding areas. General discussion should be posted in it's parent forum. I have already put a few threads up in the Arizona (http://www.3wheelerworld.com/forumdisplay.php?65-Arizona) and California (http://www.3wheelerworld.com/forumdisplay.php?66-California) forums to give you an idea of the format we'd like to see everyone use whenever possible. What needs to be in every thread posted for a new area includes the following.
GPS coordinates (you can get them from google maps, if you're computer challenged you can skip this one).
Directions or a link to the area on google maps.
Rules (is the place a state run park? is it known to be a legal riding area? NO THREADS ABOUT KNOWN ILLEGAL RIDING AREAS!)
Review (what do YOU think of the place?)
Lastly, some pictures or video of the area.
Keep in mind, the information you'll find in this directory is only as reliable as whoever posted it. 3WW makes no guarantees that the areas are legit and legal. Do your own research and be safe.
As this is a new endeavor, feedback is welcome!

Yeah Rasor is a long haul. I love it there though. I try to make it out twice a year. I'm going to update the ones I've already posted with some still pictures and some additional links soon.

Is this forum open to guests, or is it only available to members like the classifieds are?

I just want to thank Doug for all the prodding he has given me over the past (year, probably?) to finally get this all pulled together and setup. Its going to take some community input and additions, but I think it will come to be a very high traffic and important part of the site over a period of time. I'm gonna go add some places to it right now.

One problem and one question.....couldn't ya say something diffrent for Jersey......Jersey girls are well......come on we have sooo much more like TOXIC WASTE, corupet politicans,NYC's trash, the Jersey shore, and Snookie!!!!!!!! Now the question....We don't have any legal riding areas in Jersey so most if not all will be illegal. I have access to alot of areas with the owners permission and my own land. But they are invataion only. I like my freinds like to have a little control with the riding on our properties. I hate waking up on sunday at 9 or 10 am cuz a butt load of people showed up cuz it's on line. I can invite riders along and then they can ask the owner if and when they can ride. I've had quite a few people over to my place from the site and only one will not be asked back. Most just have to call and say their coming on such and such day and we let them. This tends to work for us and weed out the trouble makers. Having a good spot to ride here is like winning the lotto.... doesn't come along often...........this doesn't make me a dick????

There NO legal places to ride in Jersey? Seriously? Wow.
I definitely do not recommend making any posts about illegal riding areas or anything where you're not sure uninvited guests are welcome. Those situations would be better off talked about in a thread in the parent forum if you're hosting a ride or something.

Yes no legal places to ride in Jersey. That may soon change if the state opens a ORV park but then everyone will have to register their atv's and insure them no matter where you ride. then if your caught riding illegal you will have your atv taken away. The laws will be stiffer than they are now and I have been told the local police forces see this as a money maker. So it's really a no win situation. I'm all up for members PMing me for info to ride. This is a good way to meet riders from all over south jersey how have property to ride. The State Forest trails are open to LEGAL Dual Sports and 4X4 trucks and jeeps though. If your into that then this is the place.

I'd recommend just making a post in the jersey forum, that you have access to/know of some private places to ride, and for interested members to Private message you. Then it'll be up to you, how much you do or dont tell them.
I lived in Jersey for about 6 months up in the Bridgewater area. Description stays

I would like to suggest mentioning if a riding place is kid friendly or not. I'd love to take my 7 year old to do some "real" riding on here 90cc quad but most of the places I go to the trails are too difficult for a little kid. Even if the riding area has an open section that is conducive to little ones getting some seat time it'd be a great thing to mention. Unfortunately there isn't any state run riding areas in NY either, just some private trails that are part of the Trail Pass system. I would consider making that whole section visible to members only. Why would we want to tip off people who aren't even members here to places to ride? They may be the type that goes to them and ruins it for the rest of us.
BTW, NJ doesn't have Snookie. Unfortunately, us New Yorkers have to take credit for that waste of oxygen. She's from the Poughkeepsie area. :(

what about posting links to the ride area's website instead of all the other info since the info is found on the site? Would that be ok too? I did this for NC...not sure if I did it in the right area though, please let me know.
As long as all the important info is there it's ok. People need to be able to find it and know what the rules are.
And JohnR, not a bad idea about the kid friendly part. Not having any kids of my own though it's hard for me to say what the little guys can handle.
Also, while the threads on riding areas are not intended for any general discussion, specific questions like that can be asked in those threads.
