Hey I just picked myself up a 200x. The PO said it was bored a little over, not sure how much, has cobra exhaust, high performance cam, uni air filter, fresh rebuild etc. This thing is a little trailprotrailprotrailprotrailprotrailpro to start with the kick start when the engines cold. It has strong compression so doing the kick start over and over again gets to your leg haha. Is it possible to setup an electric start on this thing?

i have never seen electric start on a 200x....you would need alot of wireing, battery, ingintion....headache. Mine started hard when the timing was out of wack after a rebuild....i would check that. also is it using the decompression cable? if not you may want to hook that up for easier starts.

Yeah, my 200x is a biatch to start too. Mine's from lack of compression, not too much, but I usually get a workout getting the stupid thing started! Hasn't been started in two or three months now, so I'm sure it won't be fun.

Goki apparently made 200x starters once upon a time, but no longer. You might find one on Ebay, but it will be expensive!

Those Goki starters were very problematic, weren't they? So much that they ceased production?

The kickstarter doesn't get as many full rotations as a pull starter. If you're timing is good, carb is clean, then it should start within three or so kicks.

yeah i agree...if its got good compression, carb is cleaned and working properly, good spark, and the timing is right on she should fire right up. mine starts 2nd kick every time when its cold....choke all the way up and a slight "blip" of the throttle as im kicking.

I found one on ebay... $250 ouch. i think ill try to get it all setup so it kick starts easier like setting the timing correctly if its off and what not.

I have a Goki starter and I would advise NOT to put it on. After you put all the electrornics you still can't charge the battery. You need to hook up a batt. charger every onece and a while. The electric motor doesn't have enough power to pull over the 200X if is at the top of the srtoke so you find yourself kicking it over till it is in the down stroke. NOT WORTH THE $$$$$$$!!

For all the trouble and expense of the Goki kit, I would get a brand new Lifan 200 and work it over a bit. You'll get the power and electric staerter. Just my opinion.
Hope you get that fix.

There is a much easier way and it gives you pull start too, Here's the thread from 3wo with pictures. You would pretty much need a 200m Parts bike.
