Saw this on craigslist, called about it, and bought it an hour later... sitting in my garage awaiting 2 or 3 things to make it right. Starts and runs great, but needs an airbox hose, some wiring figured out(it will only run when the light is on hi beam), and the seat covered... $200, and around here, that's practically free :D You guys are seeing it before my wife even sees it (I don't think she wants to see it).

I just got rid of my air box hose I had last night to someone local. I have the air box still but no hose.

If the electrical is like mine (from a 78), the "headlight" switch as 3 positions: 1 = all off, 2 = ignition on, 3 = ignition + lights on. No hi-lo option even though the socket and bulb are capable.

Sounds like somebody tried to make the hi-lo work.

hmm... you have to have the switch o the headlight all the way to the right, and the handlebar ignition on for it to run... haven't tried it yet, but the previous owner said it will run in the middle position, but won't run well... will investigate in the AM

The switch on the thumb throttle is for the ignition. The switch on the headlight is for the headlight. If you have to turn the headlight on to run, then your wires are hooked up wrong, that's all. And for jb2wheels, your wiring is all hosed up man.

I did... it feels like my 70 on steroids... lol. Until a month ago, I never rode a hardtail... fun!

MonroeMike is right, but some people post like they have no ignition switch (emergency switch). And I keep referring to later model wiring.

Yes, around 8 last night, why?

Also, did the 90's have a front brake? I'm thinking mine has a 110 front end because I have a front brake and the clamp spacing is different than the stock 90 triple I had lying around. I wanted to put the original handlebars on it, so I tried to do a swap, spacing between clamps is different, then I tried to replace the top of the triple, and the holes don't line up...

90 and 110 dont have front brakes it might be off a 125m or 185s/200 exc

if no front shocks then it prob a 125m front end or an older 200/185.

It has a 22" front tire... fits right with the fender... doesn't the 200 have a 25" tire?

Front brakes are a good thing when your rolling down a hill backwards when the motor cuts out .

Make sure you download the manual and we can figure out the wiring issue.
I'll be over Saturday AM to check it out if you'll be around.
Can't wait to see the new toy - I'll be in touch later this week.

So....... when are we putting that addition on your garage??

I hit the local MC junkyard and got this nice '75 tank for $25. Shot the rear fenders with some Sunrise just to make it a "little" less rough looking, put on a new pull cord and starter gasket from ebay, and the rack I got a couple weeks ago... also '85 BR handlebars and brake lever. Now I need a carb rebuild, and waiting on my new seat from Shortline... I love it!

You're heading in the right direction. Nothing like being respectable. You need your gearbox drive and speedo though. Maybe a couple flagged whip antennas with a custom "family" flag or something like that would be cool or maybe flags with personalized names. I bet the moshes could come up with some cool flags for you.

I like the flag idea... I'll eventually get some custom stickers made up as well:
350X - "The Beast"
ATC 90 - "The Mutt"
ATC 70 "Li'l Red"
