so I 've been walking around this 'extra' es for a year now, throwing new parts at it periodically because it had spark, new tires and looked pretty clean. just got it...a year ago and never ran it
Most people dont put new tires on something that doesn't run so I figured it was not going to be a waste of time.
gas tank, battery etc so I could see if it was worth doing any work on in case the engine or gearbox is hosed. just wanted to run it thru the gears once to see if I should continue with time $$ and parts
new battery, spins like it should and no spark now.

aggravated i checked the stator and NO ohms like a dead short.
used the same meter 3 feet away on linda's bike that runs and it read 300 ohms..went back to the problem bike and 0 none no ohmage.

thinking I'll check stator output on linda's running bike while running but said I've had it with the piece os and decided to part out this ^$^%$$%. at that moment.
Heck I went to get a parts bike last week for 200$ and it turned out to be a 250sx and everything works. (no spark on that was neutral sw bad) fast as can be, full suspension, brakes work etc etc
anyway....
took the tank off the 200 es , took the battery out and out of sheer morbid curiosity, pulled the plug, yanked the ripcord and SPARK!! started so fast with 1/2 pull it almost knocked me on my -----,
so if you dont have spark, threaten to part it out, take the battery out and it will run.
WITH a bum stator check?
now who's gonna believe that other than me?
