the dented gastank thread made me think, I wanted to ask how hard is it to remove a dent from a four stroke headpipe? Has anyone tried the apply air pressure and heat with a torch technique? If anyone has tried it was it succesful??? Any other ways of taking the dents out? Thanks

For a headpipe, cut the pipe across the dent, and then work the dent out as best as possible, then weld back together.

I read on the board that someone filled a gastank full of water and put it in the freezer. and that popped it out. but you would want to keep a close eye on it. before it splits.

I would plug up 1 end and put compressed air in it approx 40 lbs . heat it with a blowtorch slowly . It should pop out . Dont over do it and blow a hole in it !

I would stick with Mobular's advice.

I am just wondering if the freezer trick would work here. I have a dented pipe and may just have to try it.

call me crazy, but that all sounds like alot of work to me - I would just buy a new pipe or find a good used one. Then again it depends on the rearity of the machine.

we are talking about a fairly rare machine, but I was wanting to buy a used biggun headpipe off a guy, and was wondering how hard they were to fix...
