Found a Tiger 250! [Archive]

I am in the process of restoring a Tiger 250. Ex NY State Championship Motocross and flat track history. I will be interested in selling/trading when complete. Dennis Kirk is sending me some of the final parts needed. This was definitely built with racing in mind. Would like to here from people with info on parts, values and other facts related toTigers.

What parts are you getting from Dennis Kirk for it? Tigers are pretty one off racing machines and I don't know what you'd get from them unless it was chain and sprockets or something. Can't wait to see those pictures though. And your in NY, your right in holic's area (Another Tiger owner).

like stated above,dennis kirk wont have any parts for the tiger and i very highly doubt the even have sprockets available for it also.unless you know what the rear sprocket is a copy of.everything else was custom made or made from an outside supplier.

well i can tell ya.. you can get chains and sprockets from dennis kirk... holic will tell ya all about it! :).. but you guys are right.. nothing else can be bought from them, unless your looking at stainless lines, levers.. that kind of stuff.. my restore is getting there slow and steady.. waiting for rear axle from chroming, swingarm,hubs, fork tubes, from powder coater.. then ill post pics!

I was just getting a front tire,grips, fuel shutoff, chain, from dennis kirk. I will have to mail pics and have you put them on the site. I had to get a new stator from tony ????? in california, a Rotax specialist. I fired it up and it runs good. will be test riding it in a few days. Everythings tight... bearings, bushings, shafts ect.... I did a total disassemble and rebuild of the bike minus the motor, cylinder and piston in great shape. Pics will be coming if you give me an address. 8? Tiger 250 90 Ducati 906

Sounds awsome! I would love to see pics also. I am a big rotax fan and I would love to find a tiger myself. I haven't seen or heard of a single one for sale in MN though, even though thats where as far as I know they were made. Good luck restoring it. :)
