85 250r case splitting questions

first off any tips or tricks that are not posted in the honda service manuals? motor needs rod and rod bearings... and also was wondering how important the lineup dowels on the two left studs for the jug are...in the one service manual i have it says DONT lose these.. and the motor i have there not there...wasnt sure just how important these were.

They are VERY important or the jug is not centered withing the center of the rod...........

Rods and the big end bearing arr better off left to the people that do it often, it's not easy to get dead nuts!
