Hello,

I have what appears to be a very well preserved ATC 110. It has the following problems:

If I move the throttle cable even a little the engine will gradually rev up until it reaches a fairly high RPM. I have lubed the cable and the thumb throttle and everything is working perfectly. What is going on?

The lighting coil puts out 13V AC at idle, and mid 40s engine revved fairly high. Is this normal? What sort of bulb can operate with that wide range of voltage?

Where can I get tires for this machine?

I also need a float bowl O ring and a needle valve. I took one from a Trail 110, but it leaks a little when I am riding it.

Your throttle slide may have a burr on it.

sounds like your regulator rectifier isnt grounding the excess voltage. the carb O ring can probably be found in a carb rebuild kit on e-bay for 15 bucks and that way you get seals for the whole carb.
you can get tires from the internet or even tractor supply. check out http://www.rockymountainatvmc.com/typeDetail.do?navType=type&navTitle=Tires+and+Wheels&webTypeId=138&webCatId=8 pretty much every tire made will be on that list somewhere

I don;t think there is a regulator, is there? It seems to be wired directly to the headlight. Do you think a carb rebuild would have the Oring for the petcock?

Wow, this is probably the most fun offroad that I have had. However, it's also the scarriest. This thing has fallen on me twice now, and has rolled down a cliff. This last time I took it out I had it fall and push the toes on my left foot upwards. They are all swollen, but I still kept riding. I have melted the tab on the float and that has stopped the leaking of gas out of the overflow tube. I also filled the gas tank with rocks, nuts, and bolts and shook it up real good. I took a long, large flathead screwdriver and scraped as much rust as I could from the hump in the tank. Now, with a clear fuel filter, I see zero rust. It has some valve noise or timing chain noise. I will adjust the valves tomorrow. Is the timing chain self tensioning? I am thinking about getting an AC regulator/rectifier (Maybe from a car?) to give me 12 volts, and possibly an LED headlight. Man this little machine is fun. It goes ***ANYWHERE***. The lack of suspension isn't a problem at all. The best part is it gets really good gas mileage. I was worried about gas, but I have almost 1/2 tank left and I went all over the place. The odd thing is that when it is cold, when I start it, it wants to surge and gradually increase in RPM, but when it is warm, it doesn't do it. When I put the choke on when I start it cold, it won't surge.

When you mentioned the high rev it sounded like mine when I had an air leak

Where was your air leak at? I've had the carb off several times and I have everything tight. But you could be right.
